———————
Lisa Porter was for the most part a once
normal 14 year old girl save a few things.
Lisa was short and slightly underweight for her age,
always had been.
Lisa was also underdeveloped or a late bloomer.
She had interest in boys, knew the birds and bees,
and of course had periods and stimuli that came with maturity.
Sadly tho she feared Mother Nature hated her seeing as
she was nearly flat as a board, hadn’t
gotten the height boost or other promises
of puberty to any meaningful degree.
If there were a puberty fairy she sure wonders
what she had done to piss it off or repel it.
Another Unique thing to Lisa besides her story
is her living situation.
Her parents had died 4 years ago in a tragic
and horrific accident involving a drunk driver,
a semi and a tour bus.
Dozens of lives were lost because of some idiot
on a drunken road rage bender resulting in
as the cops called it a tragic chain reaction.
The accident ended in a series of crashes that
sent Lisa’s parents car and a tour bus off of
a bridge and into a ravine.
The tour bus had rolled over and landed inches from
her parents car however a light pole was knocked down taking out the pole on the opposite side of the highway.
In the pitch dark a semi had little time to react.
It screeched to a halt but it was too late.
The tour bus driver had climbed out his drivers windows
then lept to safety moments before the semi crashed
into the tour bus sending it and the Porter’s car thru a
guardrail and into a ravine.
The only small solace to the Porter family was
the parents had been knocked unconscious according to traffic cams after the drunk had sent them into the guardrail.
The tour bus and car had both exploded at the bottom of the ravine.
The drunk driver was caught and charged the maximum.
The D.O.T. , The Tour Bus Co and Trucking Co
each paid out a settlement to the Porter family
fortunately the porters were also fairly well off.
The Porter children didn’t even know their parents
had a small wealth until their death.
Their parents were nerds and worked a lot for a couple of
tech companies.
Apparently they had a few decent patents
and some good stock and bonds options.
Their mom and dad had planned ahead.
Apparently they had fully funded college funds
for each of their kids and when their estate and assets
were liquidated and turned to cash per their will
a trust survival account for the children to live off of
was set up the parents having left their children
just shy of $25 million to hopefully last all 4
long enough till they all including Lisa
could either marry or otherwise support themselves
The will appointed a money manager trustee to be paid
a modest fee out of the 24 point 93 mill
and make sure the Porter children lived frugally.
Instructions also have said Trustee
Power over each child’s college fund which
2 other Lisa’s elder siblings had tapped.
Her big sister Sarah was in school currently
to become a doctor. It exceeded her college fund
fortunately Nancy had offered up her excess funds seeing
as Nancy the eldest had went the cheaper route
of community college for beauty school.
She did hair, makeup and nails. She wasn’t famous but
she did okay before meeting her husband a doctor.
Lisa had also made the mature selfless choice to
kick her college fund over to Sarah on of all things
the promise that any future doctor care Lisa needed would
be free on her so long as her studies and training
would allow.
Their brother Chris on the other hand was
going the entertainment route studying music
and acting. He didn’t plan to be super famous
but he did have reasonable ambition and goals.
Back to Lisa she was the oddball of the family in some
ways. It was her living situation that was unique.
She lived alone at age 14 in her family’s house.
The family just couldn’t bring themselves to give it up.
Now of course some ground rules were set for
Lisa. Fortunately the Porter’s neighbors had been
mostly good folk and offered to help.
The Peterson’s and the Mossfield’s would help with
some yard work, check in on Lisa and small stuff like that.
only Tina Peterson the bitchy teen next door had a problem with Lisa. She bullied her and excluded her from her clique.
Tina could never understand how they could allow a
14 year old to live alone especially one so
fashionably challenged, nerdy, short and plain.
Fortunately Dr. John Peterson had also volunteered to be
Lisa’s primary care physician.
He had been friends with her parents for a fair number of years and owed them in a few ways including some bets
he lost but fully intended to make good on.
One such lost bet was that Lisa was gonna be
born Lennord. Needless to say both John and
Timothy were shocked when Lisa was born.
Chris wasn’t exactly thrilled to have yet another girl
in the house either being the only boy besides his dad.
At that age for Chris it was like
“Yuck more cooties”
The Porters lived in a small often unheard of
community.
Little Ridge, New York.
