She come upon another dilemma from when she first started this cursed trek of hers. In front of her was two areas, a baseball field, and a children's playground. Why couldn't her luck finally give her a break?! Was she just doomed to be the naked girl in public forever by some whim of a creature she didn't know? Shaking the gloom from her thoughts, Mackenzie looked over both areas carefully.
On the one hand, the ball field was completely empty and seemed devoid of any life. Yet she knew that just like the park she had tried earlier, that it could swiftly change to her disfavor. On the other hand, she saw plenty of parents, mostly mothers, and their children cavorting through the playground. They were all laughing and enjoying themselves.
Not one to risk fate in case it screwed her over again, Mackenzie looked back and forth, judging her options, then decided to skirt the edges of both. Hopefully this way, she could both avoid being seen by the people on the grounds, and quickly navigate the deserted area to find her way back towards home. It would be a long stretch though but she had no choice. Sighing, she made her way down, looking fearfully this way and that, but so far so good.
Of course, as her luck would have it, this changed in the worst possible way.
From out of nowhere, a ball came sailing over and gently whacked her on the head, before dropping to the ground. It was a foam ball, and Mackenzie paled at seeing it, remembering that kids were playing with it at the playground. Before she could find a place to hide, footsteps ran up behind her and a little girl bent down to retrieve the ball. When she made to run back, she spotted the naked red-head.
"Hey! Why are you nakey?!" she screeched, obviously used to her outside voice
"Shh! Please!" Mackenzie whispered. "I just ran into a bit of bad luck and need some help is all." if there was one thing Mackenzie didn't want, it was attention.
The girl ignored her distress, more curious than before.
"Bad luck? Help? I can help!" she cried, then ran off before Mackenzie could refute her.
Looking to where she ran Mackenzie paled further as she could clearly see the girl talking to a few other kids and adults, then pointing right at her. She needed to get out of here! But that wasn't possible, as the people, first with looks of shock at seeing a naked girl in public, then headed toward her with clear intent. Trapped like a dear, Mackenzie could only stand there as she was quickly surrounded.
"What are you doing?"
"Why are you naked young lady?"
"She's nakey! She's nakey!"
"Is this a prank?"
These were only a few of the questions she heard as she tried to explain herself, but they decided to talk over her.
