With a shower of pixels, a tall, impeccably dressed man appeared in the throne room. Though he was silver-haired and in his autumn years, he held himself with an upright bearing and had a steely gaze that commanded a great deal of authority. Turning to King Mark, he bowed deeply. "My liege. It is an honour to serve you."
"Uh.. and you are?" Mike stammered.
"Sir Rufus Reginald, sire. Your steward. You have been gone many years. I have been custodian of your castle and domain in your absence, but now that you are returned it is my duty to transfer the reins of power back into your capable hands."
"Oooh, "power", I like the sound of that!" Mike crowed.
"This must be the VR tour guide," Susan whispered. Turning to the steward, she said, "You're here to show us the ropes, correct?"
"Certainly, my lady. Your arrival was heralded weeks ago and the castle made ready for your return. You have traveled a long way. I have arranged two dozen handmaidens to wait on you, easing the discomforts of your journey. The boilers have been stoked - you will find no shortage of hot water to fill your baths and all the time in the world to languish in them. Your apothecaries have concocted potions and unctions to sooth and revitalize your skin. For food, you will find a thousand delicacies awaiting you from all corners of the Kingdom."
"Spa treatment!" Susan exclaimed giddily.
Reginald turned to Jessica. "As for the Princess, her time will be occupied by the three foreign Princes who have traveled to the castle to vie for her hand in marriage. I fear, however, that she may struggle to choose. Each one is more handsome than the last." Turning to Ryan, he said, "My Prince. The royal vault has been opened. It's endless treasures are yours to use as your see fit, as is the town beyond these walls, and its maidens..." he said with a devious twinkle in his eye.
"I'm going to slam so much virtual pussy," Ryan muttered under his breath.
Reginald bowed low once again, smiling warmly down at Damien. "For my little lord, a grand tournament is to be held. The greatest knights will joust and fight for your entertainment."
"Awesome!"
"And what about Michael?" Susan asked.
[[End Lifting]]
"Yeah, there seems to have been a mistake with his avatar." Mike added while pointing at you.
"Hey! I wouldn't call that a mistake, I'd call it a sexy piece of ass." Ryan said as he laughed, clearly amused at your situation.
Jessica also seemed to be giggling, though at least she tried to hide it.
"Ah! Yes, for her I would ask her to see the great sage Merlin, for he will know more about her hidden destiny." Reginald said, giving you a bow as he did so.
"Oh, hidden destiny!" Susan repeated with interest, "It sounds like they gave you a quest early in the game."
"Wonderful." You replied bitterly, not wanting to mention the fact that you seem to have an admin avatar just yet.
