Going after the leader is usually the best idea- without a commander, an army has no orders to follow. Birdboy swooped down and delivered a diving kick to Veronica. Veronica went tumbling backwards, and groaned in pain. She got up and brushed herself off, and Jake got into a battle stance. Veronica yelled to her troops: "Grab him! Make him kneel before me! I want him to vomit as he begs to join me!" Jake had to turn his attention away from Veronica for a bit, as now her goons were charging him. Luckily for him, they were high school students, and fought like it. Jake dispatched them easily, and even gave Kurt an extra kick in the face for trying to hit on his girlfriend once. Birdboy knocked out the last person and looked around for Veronica, but she was gone. She must have fled as soon as she realized that she wasn't going to be successful. Birdboy helped police get the teens into custody. Jail time wasn't nessicary. Calling their parents seemed to suffice. They were all so grounded.
Jake went into school the next day, and was relieved to see that Veronica's influence had all but disappeared. In fact, the number one thing being talked about was Birdboy's ass kicking. Jake felt a since of pride, and wished he could reveal his secret to all the fame it would bring, but everyone knowing he's Birdboy would do much more harm than good. Jake went off to chat with some friends before class.
Veronica watched Jake silently from across the hall. Her next plan was brewing, this one more sinister than the last. She waited for her opportunity, and followed Jake into the boy's bathroom.
