Chapter #7

Someone runs into her and she drops the amulet!

"M-ma'am?" Emily heard someone say sheepishly behind her. Emily turned around abruptly, her massive belly swinging and hitting the owner of the voice. Emily had about four feet of pregnant belly swelling out from her abdomen and it all made full contact with the slightly-taller-than-five-feet woman who called out to her. Needless to say, the woman was knocked onto her back and Emil looked down at her over her belly and breasts with a curious look.

"I'm so sorry!" Emily said, holding her hands over her belly cutely. The tiny woman, who by her outfit was a clerk at the maternity clothing store, looked up at Emily's belly, and only her belly, with a stunned look.

"I-it's okay," the woman said. Emily saw that her name tag read "Katie." Emily bent over the best she could to try to help Katie up, but her magically-donated belly made that too much of a struggle, so she only managed to rub her belly against Katie as the tiny clerk quickly got up. She had short brown hair, a little hair clip, and a face that was heavily blushing.

"You think I'd be used to having this massive belly!" Emily giggled, patting her roundness for emphasis. The amulet may have changed her mind into believing she had always been pregnant, but Emily's body was not particularly used to its new size, so accidents like this were bound to happen. "You're not hurt, are you?"

"No, I'm fine!" Katie said awkwardly, clearing her throat and trying to compose herself. "I j-just wanted to say, you left this in the changing room." Katie handed Emily her cellphone.

"Oh! Thank you so much!" Emily said cheerily, taking her phone back and giving Katie the best hug she could manage, not that Katie seemed to mind. As Emily stuffed her phone into her new black pants, getting into the back pockets that gave plenty of room for her round, maternal butt, she noticed something had changed. "Wait a minute..." Emily noticed that the amulet was no longer in her hands!

Katie saw Emily's confusion and noticed a jewel-encased necklace lying next to a metal clothing rack. The impact of the "belly bump" must have knocked it out of Emily's hands and into the rack. Katie reached down and handed it to the mother-to-be. "Here you go," Katie said, before the amulet gave her a little jolt. "Yeouch!"

"You okay, dear?" Emily said, reaching for the necklace herself, attaching it back around her neck. Spending so much time as a woman in the corporate world, Emily had heard and despised every denigrating pet name lobbed at her - dear, honey, sweetie, babe - but this clumsy, awkward salesgirl was just too adorable.

"Yeah, must have been a static shock from the metal rack," Katie said, her eyes nervously fluttering to Emily's milk-preparing chest when she said "rack," causing her whole face to light up again. Emily chuckled to herself. Poor girl, but...getting knocked down by a pregnant woman and getting a static jolt from a clothes rack? This girl is like Bambi trying to stand up.

"Well, thank you again," Emily said, heading out the door before she caused Katie to break her leg or some nonsense. Katie shivered as Emily left, never imagining she'd meet a pregnant woman as big and gorgeous as that in her life. Then, another shiver ran down her back and Katie furrowed her brow. She felt strange but...it was a different kind of strange.

I might need to go to sleep early tonight, Katie thought to herself, turning around to help her co-workers clean up. I might be coming down with something.

As Emily waddled up to her car, she took a look at the front seat and realized one undeniable truth: she was too big to drive anymore. Somehow, she'd just barely fit on the way here, but something was preventing her belly from getting in now. Weird. It wasn't like she was carrying more babies now than when she arrived.

Getting on her phone that Katie was nice enough to find for her, Emily phoned Laura. "Hey, Laura? It's me...no, I did, but, um...I think I'm too big to drive anymore. Would you mind helping me home?...thank you!...haha...yeah, you too."

After waiting on the bench in the front of the mall for about half an hour, and getting plenty of looks and even a few sneaky candid photographs, Laura walked off the bus in the front of the mall and walked over to Emily.

"Oh...you weren't kidding, you definitely can't drive now," Laura joked weakly, her face a little confused as she gawked at Emily's belly.

"Wow, thanks," Emily said, rolling her eyes with a smile. One of her babies gave a particularly poor-timed kick and Emily started rubbing her belly with one hand.

"It must be the new outfit but...you really look a lot bigger, Em," Laura said, still starring at her friend's pregnant stomach. "Do you feel any different?"

"No, I feel fine," Emily said, starting to feel self-conscious. She loved being pregnant and having such a large belly, but...it felt bad being scrutinized like this. Laura saw the concern in her friend's face.

"B-but, that's okay! You look like one hot mama," Laura said with a grin, walking up and rubbing the front of her friend's belly. Emily laughed, Laura's hand tickling her popped out belly button.

"Okay, okay. Help this hot mama get home, will ya?" Emily laughed, waddling over to her car with her friend. Moving the passenger seat back a few feet, Emily got comfortable as Laura drove them both to Emily's home.

"Need any more help?" Laura asked as she got out of the car and offered Emily a hand to pull her heavy, maternal body out of the side seat. "I know you've been doing just fine by yourself over these nine months but...you know, you're getting closer and-"

"I know, I appreciate it," Emily said, giving Laura a devastating hug of mostly belly. "I'll be sure to let you know if I need anything."

"Okay," Laura said quietly as she embraced her pregnant friend back. "Well...bye then."

The women women moved away from each other slowly, with Laura stopping as she saw the car. "So...should I take your car until you have your babies, or..."

"You know what?" Emily said with a shy smile. "Maybe you can just...spend the night here. It's a Friday, after all, and I probably need the help. If I do into labor now, I'll have to either call a taxi or give birth in the bath."

Laura laughed and walked inside with her friend, smiling happily. "Makes sense. And I wouldn't mind staying with you. Your apartment's probably a lot nicer than mine." The two women took the elevator up to Emily's place and, getting out, Laura helped her make a particularly large dinner.

As they ate, Emily rolled her shirt up to show off all of her belly. Laura couldn't help but stare, still not remembering when it was that big. Emily didn't mind, giggling as Laura gave it loving rubs. As the meal wore down, Laura rubbed her eyes.

"Hey, you don't mind if I just go to sleep now, do you? I'm feeling...kind of funny."

"No problem!" Emily said. "Make yourself at home. I was probably going to lie down too. These little ones take a lot out of me." She patted her belly to make her point, making a loud, drum-like sound.

As Emily took a shower, which was much harder to do than she remembered, Laura turned the living room's sofa into a makeshift bed. She curled up and sighed, thinking about how much nicer it was to stay the night here than at her lousy, ratty apartment that she paid for on her secretary's salary. Not to mention how much nicer it was to live with someone than to live...alone. (Even before the preg-transfer, Laura was pregnant and the father was a no-show)

Emily ran her towel over her smooth belly slowly, drying off her massive breasts. "G-cup bras were the right choice," she said to herself quietly as she got into bed. Rubbing the side of her belly, Emily sunk into her bed, reaching out her arm to the unoccupied other half of her bed. Like Laura had been, Emily was going to have to raise these babies alone. The raise and promotions were going to go a long way in supporting the coming family she would have on her arms, but Emily was still lonely.

"The Amazon, sleeping alone yet again," she scoffed to herself, before clutching her belly tightly. "At least I still have you," she said, closing her eyes as the Preg-Transferer sat on her dresser drawer, still sparking and sputtering in the dark, its power leaking and malfunctioning.

The next morning...
