"Are we ready?" Carly asked for the umpteenth time. Freddie's only response was to stifle a massive yawn. Unfortunately for him, he was still on West Coast time but his peppy girlfriend was on Italy time. While he loved that she was back for the summer, these first few days were going to be hell.
"Look Carls," He moaned, rubbing his eyes. "My mind has turned to sludge, I can't focus on anything right now." He took her in an embrace and planted a kiss on the slightly shorter girl's forehead. "We'll pick this up in the morning 'kay?"
"But our broadcast is in a week!" Carly whined. "And we still have to line up our guest stars, our skits, our-"
"Babe." Freddie cut her off. "It's in a week and I'm like 90% done with the set-up. We'll finish this tomorrow."
"K." Carly smiled. Freddie kissed her cheek before he made his way to the elevator. "And Carls? Don't. Touch. Anything." He warned as he disappeared down the shaft.
It was hardly behaviour that Carly Shay, of all people, indulged in but when any teenager was told not to touch something, their mind wanted to do only one thing.
"Poke." Carly smiled as she touched the set-up. She briefly returned her attention to the studio where so many of her misadventures had began before she gave the set-up another mischievous poke.
This time however, a whine began emanating from the equipment. Carly raised a brow. Sure she'd gotten some of her dad's military tech for use in iCarly's special anniversary broadcast but it wasn't supposed to whine.
Unsure of what was happening, Carly made her way towards the equipment so she could unplug it before a bright light shined out from it and the whining died down.
Getting back to her feet, Carly gave a groan "Oh man. What did they put... in... that?" The brunette trailed off as she saw the equipment cart towering above her like a skyscraper, even the wheels were far above her head. Somehow, against all logic, she'd wound up an inch tall.
"Ok. Calm down." She said. "You've been through worse. You just... you just have to get to Freddie. Yes. Just get to Freddie and he'll help you fix this. Just... go down three floors. And get across the hall. In the dark. Dodging all sorts of bugs and get to Freddie's room. Do all that... while being an inch tall." She said in a slightly manic tone as the sheer hopelessness set in. A trip she'd made countless times in her life and, if all went well, now it would likely take her all night to make it.
Just then, Carly heard the elevator ding and open. Bending her head forward, Carly saw-
1) Sam, here early from L.A. With no one around, the hedonistic blonde decides to just watch TV leaving Carly to try and get her attention.
2) Shelby Marx, one of their guest stars, here to drop off some props she'll need for the show, and unknowingly walking right towards Carly.
