Chapter #6

Settling In

by: The Grand One Author IconMail Icon
She threw her hooves around you the moment you came within reach, hugging you close. "Mr. Human! You're big again. I'm so glad."

Caught off guard, you could think to do nothing else but return the embrace.

Eventually Twilight let you go, but still held onto your hand to keep you from leaving. Spike returned from his trip to the bathroom and he too embraced the mare. After that the new friends caught Twilight up on what had happened, to which she looked very guilty, especially under the disapproving glare Spike had been giving her. You also introduced yourself as Anonymous. The doctors soon came in and gave Twilight one last check up, saying that all seemed well and that she should be ready to leave tomorrow, to which all three of you were happy to hear.

Overcome with relief, you decide to take a stroll around the hospital. Since the incident the first night, Rarity had generously offered to make you a new set of clothes to match your unique physique. It had been an odd experience as Rarity had been rather insistent on making the pants crotchless, arguing that leaving such an area open would help integrate him into the normally nude Equestrian society. He eventually conceded, though still found it awkward. When ponies would stare at him, he had to remind himself that they were more curious about him being a different species than staring at his groin, though he still caught their eyes wandering.

Stopping first at a snack dispenser, you are approached by a mare you recognize as Nurse Redheart.

"Hello, Mr. Anonymous."

"Hey. You hear the good news?"

"Twilight's awake," she said with a smile. "Wonderful news, indeed. But on that note, there's something the medical staff and I have been wondering."

"Oh?"

"There is nothing in any of our records about humans, let alone their physiology," she began. "I don't know where you're from and not even you know how you got here. Since we can't contact your homeland, from a medical perspective, we're effectively on our own if something happens to you."

"Oh..." you grimaced at the logic in her words.

"With that in mind, would you consent to a medical examination?" At your tensing in worry, she gave a reassuring smile. "There's no need to fret. Our magical scans are completely non-invasive. We'll have a look inside you, collect a few samples like hair and saliva," she then mumbled something too softly for you to hear, "and we'll be good."

"How long will it take?"

"We'll need to do a few sessions over a period of days, but I can't see any one session lasting more than an hour." Her eyes glanced below your belt before looking back up. "Just think it over." And with that, she turned and away, flicking her tail off to the side and giving you a clear view of what lay beneath.

Thinking it over, you agreed that what she said had made sense. At the same time, you couldn't help but wonder if she might have some ulterior motivation. In the end, you agree to the examination and rush to catch up with her.

How does it go?
