This choice: Onyx, followed by Klaus, decides to meet back with her master. • Go Back... The dragoness passed the rest of the day in preparations, accepting that Klaus joins her as a group for the time being. The townfolks accepted to help her, forging specifically for her wings and legs additional pieces of armor, fitting her. They would've also offered a moneyed reward, but given that they lost a part of the mine, and due to the bad reputation that Ferrhills had gotten, thanks to Regef, they preferred to keep it to restore the town's prosperity. Instead, they offered some ferrous minerals, as well as a refined steel ingot. Onyx would've preferred Jewels over mere metals, but accepts nevertheless, feeling she could make good use of it some day, and not wanting to make them feel bad.
If she was alone, Onyx would've simply left by night, not wanting to stay for too long, as what she saw in the mine bothered her. But given she'd travel with Klaus 'Bearskin', she helped him gathering provisions for the oncoming days.
The only problem being that Onyx has no intent of lowering herself to the level of a horse by transporting anything else but her own belongings. Thankfully, one of the horses, that she scared when she met the bandits, had made its way back to Ferrhills. Attached to its saddle is two large leather bags, probably meant for transporting loot. But they were empty, aside from two bronze knifes, a small amount of money and a pair of leather gloves.
The hard part with the horse wasn't to persuade the horse to follow Klaus, nor to charge it up with the provisions, but to calm it down, so it would tolerate Onyx. After all, after trying to retain the horse, it kicked the dragoness, causing her to yell up, 'Stupid beast! Do that again and you'll never see the light of the sun again!', making Klaus laughs. Onyx then commented, 'It's going to be a long travel..'.
Onyx remained outside the town for the night, while Klaus passed the night in an inn. As the day rises up, Klaus meets back up with the dragoness, followed by the horse, soon joined up by Jason. Klaus says, 'How's the lover doing?', making Onyx growls and Jason blushes. Jason then replies, 'I'm just asking Onyx to stay..'. She says, 'I can't. I need answers.'. Jason sighs, 'If only i knew more about it..'. Onyx adds, 'You could join me.'. Klaus complains, 'But he'd slows us!'. 'I'm the one in charge, there!'. 'Tsk! Fine..'. Jason smiles, I'd want to, but i can't. I need to stay. They need my help. And to guide for the incoming investigation.'. 'Oh.. Right. Then i promise you that i will meet you again!'. Klaus smirks, 'Two little loving birds. So cute.~'. She growls again, 'Shush, you want!?'. 'We should get going, tho.'. She sighs, 'Yeah.. Let's go.. Until next time, little man!'. Jason says, 'Until next time, Onyx..'. Klaus adds, 'Toughen up, man!'. 'I-i'll try..'. He turns around and scratches his head, blushing. Onyx whispers to Klaus, 'You're an oddball.', then waves up to Jason and moves out, followed by Klaus. He whispers back, 'You're no better.'.
Once the town is out of sight, Onyx asks, 'Why did you wanted to join me?'. 'Rumors of that order. Wasn't the first time i heard of it. But i didn't believed it till yesterday.'. 'So.. If you joined me, it wasn't for what i am?'. 'Nope.'. 'Why, then?'. 'Curiosity. If beings like you are part of it..'. 'How did you knew.'. 'You have no idea of the amount of information you can get with a good beer at a tavern.'. 'You could've tempted your luck alone. I'm not forcing you.'. 'It gives me better odds to meet your master.'. 'I'm not under the rule of anyone.'. 'Heh. Even then, you are seeking him up.' 'I need answers. And help getting by..'. 'Eh?'. 'Bah. Let's say i've went through a.. Jarring transformation. Don't ask the details. I don't trust you enough for that.'. 'Oh.. Fair enough. But then, after we meet with this man, i'll decide whenever i stay with you. That's also fair, no?'. She sighs, 'Fine.. I accept. But know that he might not want to see you.'. 'Oh yeah? Why.'. 'There's more than meet the eye, about him.'. 'Heh. We meet back to him and i'll adapt then.'. 'Yeah.'.  You have the following choice:  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
