"The ritual is that of a spiritual connection between two beings," Hazel explains. "Obviously, one of them has to be female. Although, I have heard that some tribes have males with female parts, but I've never really met one personally."
"Anyway," she continues, "the ritual is about understanding their own soul, their own spirit. The woman that is required to help perform this ritual by bringing them to the one place that can aid them; by being inside the womb."
"W-Wha???" you say, uncertain you got all that.
The wolf looks at you with a stare that says, "I understand you don't understand what I'm saying."
"It's simple," she starts. "A woman brings the of-age person to them and sends them through here..."
Hazel points at her nether region, tracing her finger up slowly towards her abs.
"...to be placed here, inside of their womb."
"How is that even possible?!" you speak out. "A woman's nethers can't stretch enough to take in a person! They barely stretch enough to give birth to a baby!"
"It is something that the people of my tribe and others like it are capable of," she says. "My mother, Lupa, told me that our people were blessed by a Great Spirit to allow us to better understand our own spirits...by being inside a place creates life, a woman's womb. When I reached 18, my mother took me inside of her. It was within her womb that I understood my spirit, my soul, and how beautiful it was. It wasn't until three days that I was pushed back into the world."
"THREE DAYS?!?" you practically shout.
"Yes, three days," she answers calmly. "When the sun hit me for the first time, I felt like I was a baby again. I didn't cry, but I couldn't leave the hut for an hour until my eyes adjusted back to normal."
"What the actual HELL, lady?!" you ask her.
"It may seem very odd for someone not of my kind, but it is perfectly natural in my tribe. In fact, after celebrating my ritual's success, I asked my mother to take me back inside her for the night. I felt at ease in her womb, comforted and protected. She even taught me how to do it."
"Okay, quick question," you say, hoping to change the subject. "How old are you?"
"36, twice your age," she answers. "Now, remove your garb and we can start."
It seems, despite your attempt to avoid talking about this "coming-of-age ritual," Hazel wishes to go through with it. You are a human, not a wolf anthro. You weren't certain that the ritual will even work for you because of you being human.
"Or do you wish not to take the ritual yet? We can hold it for a full day, no more or less. If you wish to speak with your parents or any loved ones now, I'll allow it."
"Y-Yeah, sure!" you said. "Let's, uh, wait a full day! After all, I still gotta talk to my grandmother!"
"Does she live close by, in a cabin all by herself?" Hazel asks you.
"Why, yes! You know Blue?" you ask her.
"I do," she answers simply. "The lady offered me to think of her home as mine. She is quite kind and, surprisingly, young for her age."
"Yep, because Blue's a witch. Although, I never did ask her how she stays young enough to look like a mother. I'm kinda scared to ask her, honestly."
"Enough, Red. Go to your loved ones. Once you're done, return here and we'll begin. Remember, I'm a proud hunter."
With the exchange of words now done, you walk away from Hazel and headed towards...
