This choice: You awake with your new parents at your bedside • Go Back...Chapter #12You awake with your new parents at your bedside by: Okay You wake up very slowly, you feel like you've slept for a while. You barely open your eyes, seeing the hospital room you're in, damn it's true you had a car accident. You hear two people talking at the back of the room, a man and a woman. You didn't recognize them, and they don't seem to notice you're awake yet. They don't look like hospital staff which makes you wonder who they are, what are they doing in your room. As you begin to regain consciousness, memories begin to reappear including your conversation you had with the doctors before you fell asleep. All of a sudden the whole conversation came back to mind, the accident, your brain, Brandi. "Holy shit tell me that's not true" you said to yourself the moment you remembered.
As you no longer smelled any drugs and began to feel many new sensations, the two people who were then talking realized that you were awake. They rushed towards you, each on one side of the bed. They hugged you both. You don't know what to say, do, think. You are confused, you just remembered the transplant and all the brain stuff which if you remember correctly indicates that you are now in someone else's body. That said, you don't have time to understand what's going on because two strangers are hugging you. The woman reminds you of something, you have already seen her somewhere. Emily summers, this name and face came to mind, it's Brandi's mother, Emily Summers, you've already seen it during a cheerleading performance. With each passing second, you feel like what you thought was a dream is actually real, too real to ignore. As you begin to realize that what the doctors are saying is most likely true, you hear what is most likely your mother.
"We were so worried" you heard her say with a relieved look.
You understand that the two people around you are probably "your parents". You are in shock, in less than a small and short minute you have realized too much. You are in another body, a woman moreover. On top of all that if your memories aren't playing tricks on you, you're supposed to assume Brandi's identity. As your parents let you go to sit next to the bed, you don't know what to say, far too overwhelmed by the situation.
You start to get up to sit down, that's when you start to have totally different sensations compared to before which leaves little doubt about your change of body. You see that your hands are now much finer and more feminine, which once again confirms what scares you.
"Your parents" for their part, did not wait for you to be relieved to ask a whole bunch of questions, "Are you ok?", "Are you in pain anywhere?", "Is it better" and so on. They weren't waiting for your answers to continue asking questions, you can clearly see that they are worried about you.
"I...I'm fine" you say. Even as you speak for the first time you hear a female voice coming out of your mouth which is very disturbing.
You see in the eyes of "your parents" that they are reassured, one could even say happy. As silence reigns and you are still too shocked to say or do anything, you see a doctor enter your room. It was the doctor who told you about the medical procedure, Dr. Kerry if you remember correctly.
"Brandi! Glad to see you're awake," he said cheerfully. Your parents walked up to him to thank him a thousand times for taking care of you. While you were still realizing what's going on, Dr. Kerry announced that you could be discharged from the hospital today.
"'All it takes is a handful of tests and she'll be good to go,' he tells your parents. He made sure to get them out. Just before she left, "your mother" told you they would be waiting for you outside. "Take your time, don't push too hard" she said before Kerry closed the door following them leaving you alone for the first time since you woke up.
Looking around you see a black bag with what appears to be clothing inside. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
