It's true that Summer was always somewhat grumpy, but she seemed extra grumpy today and you decide it would probably be a good idea to check up on her. As the giant were hyena stomps in the front door, you slid under her fence and then run up and duck underneath her door.
As you do, you yell out and move to the side as the hyena titaness nearly steps on you. Summer then looks down and realizes you're there. "Dang it, Neil," she says grumpily. "I could've stepped on you. Don't you think you should go home now? Maggie will be worried if you don't come back soon." "I'm worried about you," you say. "You're acting grouchy, even for you."
Summer then lets out a sigh. "Fine," she says. "It's my sister." "Your sister?" you ask. You heard about Summer's older sister. Her name was Cree and she lived in Fearfield. You thought that their names were kind of funny since the names were Cree and Summer, like that actress. Ironic given their species as hyena based monsters. From what you heard Cree was the last monster you'd want to meet. She was a psychotic creature who put Meagan to shame. Maggie said that Cree worked in a prison and her job was to beat up any prisoner that acted up. A job she enjoyed way too much.
You turn your head to a photograph of Summer and her sister. From the looks of it, Cree was the same height as Summer but had deep brown fur and red hair worn with large Tomboyish sideburns. Also, in contrast to Summer's muscular amazonian figure, Cree was almost as fat as Maggie was.
That's when Summer explains. "Cree is gonna be in town for a few days because of our parents' anniversary." "That doesn't sound too bad." You say. "Oh yeah?!" snapped Summer. "She's bringing Aurelia!" You then see the problem. Aurelia was Summer's sister-in-law and Cree's wife. You don't know what she looks like but you heard that she was a were jackal. For some reason, Summer just plain hated Aurelia and has been mad at Cree for a decade for marrying the jackal woman. In fact, Summer's hatred of Aurelia dwarfed her hatred of Flora.
You have no idea why. Perhaps Summer didn't approve of same sex marriage and her behavior was due to homophobia. Or perhaps Summer's dislike from Aurelia came from racism. Some species of monsters don't like other species; vampires and werewolves didn't always get along, gryphons had an aversion to pegasi and unicorns and frost giants and dark elves apparently don't get along since you heard Irma once make a condescending remark about dark elves.
Summer growls just thinking about Aurelia and grits her teeth as you step back and she punches the wall. "Why did Cree have to marry that one-eyed bitch!" "Whoa! That's a strong word for you to say given your..." "I'm not a dog, Neil," says Summer. "I can see the confusion but hyenas aren't really canines. That's beside the point. I do not want that Anubial bone muncher in my house! And I suggest you go home if you know what's good for you. I'm a vegetarian but Cree and Aurelia, they'd eat you alive in a heartbeat."
Suddenly there's a knock at the door and you hide under the couch as Summer walks to open it. But who is at the door when Summer opens it?
