You see it was a female human walking over to you, "how is your leg?" she asks pointing, "it hurts, but I'm ok" you tell her sitting up. "My name's Kino" she says holding out her hand, "mine's John" you say shaking her hand, "are you hungry?" she asks, "a little" you say, in fact you were starving because you haven't eaten anything since the crash. Kino walks over to the fireplace and returns with two bowls of soup, she hands one to you, "Kino, do you know where everyone is?" you ask, she shakes her head, "nope, woke up one day and everyone was gone" she says.
"Well have you seen two other men come through here before me?" you ask, again she shakes her head, "no you're the first person I've seen in a long time" she says. The two of you continue eating and talking, as soon as you finish your bowl of soup and Kino take care of it you become tired from todays events so you lay back down on the bedding and drift off to sleep.
You awake the next morning, as you sit up and stretch you look over and see Kino asleep on the pillow next to you, you reach down and check your leg, it was still sore, but not as bad as yesterday, "what are you doing?" you hear kino ask. You turn around and see she was awake, "nothing, just checking my leg" you tell her, "well don't mess with it you might make it worse" she says. "I know, you know its flattering that you decided to sleep in the bed with me" you say, Kino lets out a laugh, "well technically since its my bed you slept with me" she says.
You laugh, "yeah I guess thats true", "come on I'll make breakfast" says Kino as she gets up, but as you attempt to stand Kino stops you, "nope, with that injured leg you stay there" she says, "well what am I supposed to do?" you ask. "Just sit there and look pretty" she says as she walks over to the fire pit, minutes later she comes back with breakfast in hand, you took a bite, whatever it was it tasted good. "This is really good" you say pointing to your breakfast, she blushes, "thank you, I'm glad you like it" she says.
Suddenly you see something that catches your eye, there was a foxes' tail behind Kino, "what?" she asks, she turns around and sees the tail. She lets out a heavy sigh, "you would have found out eventually" she says, "found out what?" you ask, before your eyes Kino changes and gains some fox-like features, more tails appear, she gains a muzzle, fur, paws, and pointy ears. She gets up and quickly leaves the room so you get up and follow her, she was in the front room standing by the fire pit, "go ahead and run like the others" she says still looking at the fire place.
You hopple up behind her, "I'm not running anywhere" you say, she turns and looks at you, "you mean your not afraid?" she asks, "why should I?" you ask. "Well because I'm different" she says, "to be honest I think your beautiful" you tell her. She smiles at you, "really?", you nod, she walks over and hugs you and starts sobbing lightly, "are you ok?" you ask, "its just....thats the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me" she says. You wrap your arms around her and return the hug, you feel her tails lightly cocoon around you, the two of you stay this way for what feels like twenty minutes before breaking the embrace.
"You know I can heal that leg if you want" says Kino pointing to the makeshift splint on your leg..........
