Chapter #11

    by: Unknown
The birds were singing, the flowers were blooming, the wind was gently blowing across the courtyards, counteracting the sun that shone on Beacon Academy. It was an otherwise completely normal weekened day for team RWBY. Yang was doing sit-ups on the floor of their dormitory, and their leader was maintaining her weapon, a sniper/scythe hybrid she belovedly named Crescent Rose.

Weiss on the other hand, was talking about her cause for becoming a Huntress, more specifically, she was making plans with her team on how to accomplish it. And she figured that resident bookworm Blake would be the most relevant person to have this discussion with.

"You already know that the reason why I decided to become a huntress was because I wish to restore my family's honor, right?"

Blake nodded, a pile of books carefully placed next to her on her bed. Touching her ears with her right hand, her real ears disguised as a bow, not the cartilage sculptures that were surgically installed into the side of her head to look like human ears.

"I also said that I came to Beacon to get away from my father, and while this is also true. I did it because so I could get the credentials to perform criminal investigations and act as a law enforcement official."

"Wait, why'd you come to Beacon for that?" Yang asked, not interrupting her sit-ups. "Last I heard, Atlas' Legal education centers were better than Beacon's!"

"Yes, I know," Weiss responded, about to elaborate. "But the reason why I had to go to Beacon was because Atlas passed a law that-"

Before she could continue, Weiss was interrupted by the intercomm.

"All students on campus," Glenda Goodwitch's voice announced over the intercomms, more tense than usual. "Please head for the auditorium in 30 minutes for assembly."

"Let's go, everyone," Ruby piped up, chipper as always, jumping up and leaving Crescent Rose on her desk mid-clean.

Soon enough team RWBY sat down in the auditorium with the rest of the student body and all of the teachers.

"This is weird," Yang noted, scratching her head, causing her golden lockes to bounce up and down. "It's not like the faculty to just call an assembly out of nowhere like this."

"Maybe it's not that sudden," Blake speculated. "I think this has something to do with the renovations going on, and that new building that they just finished construction on."

"But if they're going to open that building, then why are we here and not there?" Ruby asked.

"And I don't think this assembly was called for good news," Yang said, pointing at a chair next to th left of the podium where the squid faunus teacher sat, tentacles writhing slowly but animatedly. "Professor David over there looks mad."

"Doesn't the survival instructor always look mad?" Ruby asked.

"You know what I mean," Yang said. "And Carrie's nowhere to be seen." Notedly, Weiss decided to stay quiet throughout it all.

The chatter in the room stopped all of a sudden when Ozpin walked onto the stage and stepped onto the Podium, Beacon's banner hanging behind him. Glynda was miffed, but she always looked that way, Port leaned down and pinched the bridge of his nose, shaking his head. But when Ozpin walked slower than usual to the podium, and instead of the confident unbreakable composure normally on his face, the headmaster of Beacon was cringing.

"Uh oh," Yang whispered.

"Students of Beacon," Ozpin began, the life drained from his voice. "I know you've noticed the recent renovations and the new building that was constructed on the grounds. That has been a subject of debate and speculation, and now that the building is ready to open, I am happy to confirm that it is in fact a new workshop that is outfitted with every tool imaginable to equip you to make your weapons, equipment, and even clothing with the exact specifications you desire."

Some cheering erupted in the room, with Ruby pumping her fist. "Yes!" She quietly celebrated, a smile on her face.

"And now onto the bad news, about the other renovations. The Council of Vale has recently voted on passing a new, and frankly, rubbish mandate in an effort to, as they put it: give some much needed oversight to our unruly and out of control Huntresses."

"Oh no," Weiss whispered in horror, her face growing even paler than normal. "This can't be happening. This can't be happening!"

"No," Blake whispered in disbelief and a hint of slow boiling anger. "They wouldn't dare."

"What? What's going on?" Yang asked.

"-and it is in the name of that cause that Vale officially adopted as law, The Huntress Oversight statutes. This is a ridiculous collection of laws that are designed to restrict our Huntresses in arbitrary and detrimental ways. And I'll read it out as implemented by the coutnry of Vale for all of its Huntresses, I didn't let this news enter the school grounds because I wanted to give you time to enjoy your sense of normalcy while it lasted."

At that point, a pale white fabric lowered behind Ozpin.

"Now, I'll go over the most controversial, and most relevant detail about the law, and I'll have it been seen on the projector sot hat nobody can mistake this. And here goes..."

The room darkened and the screen behind the headmaster shone to life with a projector image.

"All on-duty and in-training Huntresses are to wear diapers at all times, and are only authorized to remove them when A) the diaper is wet or soiled or both, and B) When changing into another diaper better suited for a certain environment. And C: Must always change put on another diaper afterward."

As Ozpin stated the law, there was an outcry that grew bigger and louder in the room.

"No...no..." Weiss muttered and leaned backwards into her seat.

"Weiss?" Ruby asked. "Weiss, are you okay?"

Yang on the other hand was still absorbing the news. She was feeling a million things in her heart and head and she didn't know what. She expected to see and hear many wierd things in her career as a Huntress, but this just absolutely floored her. It was nuts, absolutely insane. But while Yang was stunned into a trance, Weiss was almost catatonic, inconsolable.

"Do not try to sue the toilets, they are now shut down on top of being illegal. I wish I could ignore this HOS and let my students graduate here as they've always done. I'm sorry but you're going to just have to learn to live with this," Ozpin concluded, his face and voice now barely hiding his fury.

And before everyone knew it, the presentation was over, all the Huntresses had been dismissed to the infirmary to recieve their new update in uniform.

"It's over," Weiss said in a hollow voice, shaking her head ind espair. "It's over, my career as a Huntress, the future of my family, derailed, gone. It's over. That monster's now untouchable!"

"Weiss, it's okay!" Ruby consoled her. "It's going to be alright, nothing's derailed."

"Ruby's right," Blake said. "You weren't in much shape to listen, but Ozpin said that the version of that stupid mandate Vale just adopted didn't remove a Huntress's right to learn to practice and aid in law enforcement."

"Then, my future..." Weiss whispered.

"Your future's safe," Yang reassured Weiss, putting her big hand on her shoulder. Though it was of little comfort to the Atlesian Heiress.

"Now we just got to deal with...this," Ruby commented partly in disbelief, a line had formed in front of the infirmary, which Yang was too busy trying to process the information and comfort her friend to notice they were already there.

"I can't believe this is happening..." Blake muttered. "Vale was always one of thea more reasonable places in Remnant. To adopt something like this..."

The cat Faunus put her hand forward to the rpaidly decreasing line of girls. Nora and Pyrhha were jsut ahead.

"No no no! I won't accept this!" Nora protested. "I can't!"

"But you have to," Pyrhha noted, her voice sad and her green eyes sympathetic. "We don't have any choice."

"That's easy for you to say! You always wore diapers ever since you started training in Mistral!"

"Nora, that's enough," Ren gently said.

Soon enough team RWBY found themselves on the changing tables, Blake accepted being confined to diapers with a stony face, getting off of the changing table without so much as a word. Weiss didn't like it at all, barely holding back her tears, and Ruby was neutral bordering on lukewarm. Yang's half-sister walked funny and rubbed her new undergarment gently, her expression unreadable.

Yang on the other hand didn't know what to feel, on the one hand it sounded so convenient, on the other, diapers were baby garments to keep tiny humans from leaving messes on the ground. When they returned to their dormitories, the team didn't know what to do.
