Karen felt a little self-conscious about her purchase. Of course she knew the little statue in her bag wasn't cursed or anything like that, but if someone saw her coming out of the store with it they might think she did. Shy as Karen was, she tried not to give anyone an excuse to make fun of her.
She looked closer at the inscription on the base of the statue. It didn't make any sense to her. Maybe one of her books at home would help her translate it. Looking back at the statue itself Karen was a little bit surprised. It showed a humanoid figure, its face featureless, with its legs spread apart and hands behind its back, almost as if they were bound. What surprised Karen though was that the figure looked to be a girl- it had little bulges on its chest and its groin was smooth. She'd thought it was male when she bought it. In fact, that was kind of what she liked about it. It was juvenile and probably perverted, but she'd been looking forward to teasing it by rubbing the little stick hanging between its legs, imagining it was a little naked boy at her mercy. It actual gender disappointed her a little more than she wanted to admit to herself.
Sighing and stuffing the statue back into her bag, Karen tried to ignore her disappointment and continued heading...
