Now, it was safe to say that no one was particularly happy to open the emergency door to find rain. It was safe to say that almost no one was dressed for it- most people walking outside in pajamas, or at the very least, not many people had thought to grab a coat. And it was safe to say that, if there was any one person who was least happy and most underdressed, it was Mackenzie.

Amid the groans of the groggy and the shouts of the soon-to-be-soaked, Mackenzie stifled a scream as the cold, cold rain started beating down on her. It was a far cry from the steady, warm stream in the shower. Here she had sheets of raindrops, slamming into her and her dorm mates.

There was some brief respite- a line of trees stood not too far from the exit, and the students were currently amassing underneath. Of course, Mackenzie had been one if the last ones out of the building, so by the time she finally made it under the canopy, she was at the very fringe of the huddled mass.

The red-head sneezed, soaked and shivering as she was. Looking down, she knew that she was a sore sight. The towel she had grabbed was more or less completely saturated with water. This had the dual effect of having it cling to her, water soaking into her skin as it showcased her figure, an the effect of making the towel much heavier, requiring two hands and constant attention to keep from slipping right off.

Beyond the apparent problems with her outfit, Mackenzie was also missing shoes. She wasn't alone I that fact, but looking down at her mud-covered feet, she just had one more thing to worry about; even out of the dark shower stall, she still had to be careful not to slip.

As various thoughts drifted through Mackenzie's head (the average response time of a fire department, the pros and cons of skipping her class in lieu of another shower, what she could have possibly done to deserve this, etc.) she was roused from her thoughts, as she suddenly felt herself...
