This choice: Sophia suddenly stopped him from leaving. • Go Back...Chapter #8Sophia suddenly stopped him from leaving. by: AridWD James was surprised when suddenly he felt Sophia grab his arm before he could leave her room. He looked back and saw a little fear but also a need to understand.
"James, don't...just leave me like that. I need to know what's going on," she firmly requested. It looked like she wasn't planning on letting him go until she got some answers as to what the hell happened.
James gulped as he tried to avoid staring at her naked breasts. "T-then, can you put some clothes on first?"
Sonia blinked and then gasped, forgetting she was still nude. Letting go of James' arm, she nodded and went back into the closet. Unfortunately, James was still naked and it didn't look like Sonia had any spare clothes for him. Taking a look around, he saw several clean towels and opted to take one of them to at least cover his privates. Taking his wet clothes that melted off him, he went ahead and put them into the laundry room he knew of, putting them into the dryer. He wasn't sure how long it would take to explain things, but it gave him time to dry his clothes at least.
Sitting back into the sofa with his towel tightly on, he sighed. Sonia came out of her bedroom, dry and actual clothes, she sat next to him.
"James, please tell me what just happened to you...to me."
James curled his lips, wondering how to begin. "I...melted on to you."
Sophia furrowed her eyes in confusion and clearly, James needed to explain more. "When I was a little boy, I somehow discovered I was able to completely lose my solid form into a liquid state."
Sophia still didn't understand it, but realized that was probably as simple as it was going to get. He melted and from what she remembered, he did look like he was melting.
"Does your mother know about this?" she asked.
James nodded. "She does...except..."
"Except?"
James sighed. "She doesn't know that I can interact with others biologically. That's what happened to you. I couldn't help myself and...I absorbed you."
Sophia seemed to shiver a little and James caught it. She probably was scared to her wits when she saw a blob of flesh that simply dissolved her. He frowned.
"I...I'm a monster, aren't I?"
Sophia narrowed her eyes and shook. "N-no...you can't be a monster, James! You're the only person here that I consider as a son! You're just...different."
James wasn't sure whether to be relieved or not. She was still shaking, clearly trying to make some sense of it all.
"Are you scared?" James asked.
Sophia nodded a little. "I can't lie, but...I feel like I need to understand you better, James. If this is who you are, then I want to support you."
James couldn't believe what he was hearing. His neighbor was willing to believe and also understand what he was going through. At the same time, he could only wonder if Jennifer could've been this understanding. She was forced to understand and accept his condition because she was apart of him. Sophia was apart of him as well, but when she had the ability to escape, she didn't.
"Can you tell me then. Does this have anything to do with Jennifer?" Sophia asked, putting one and one together.
James grew slightly distressed and took a deep breath. He hadn't expected Sophia to make a connection, but how could she not? The question was...could James tell her the truth? That may be enough to convince her otherwise that you were a monster. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
