You flick the spider from your arm, its dark body crashing into a heap of leaves against the deck. A quiet groan comes from behind you. With Angelina suddenly frowning, she leans over with a hand at her chest as you face her, "Angelina, are you alright?" She nods but weakly coughs, then again more forcefully. "Maybe something happened with the transposer. It could be serious!" You hurry to your feet and grab her around shoulder and waist. "We have to get you out of here."
She pushes your comfort away, "No," you remain close as she lurches around, "there's a bed inside. Let me lie down for a minute." She takes a step, falling faint on one knee. "Carry," she whispers through a cough, "carry me."
You lift her and force open the ancient, ajar door with a kick. Dust clouds under your steps inside the main chamber. Angelina grips her arm tighter around your neck as you whisper, "I hope this is the right thing to do." When another step provides a series of paths ahead, you ask in full voice, "Angelina, where to?"
