Caught in mid-introduction, the visitor's voice warped, changing pitch and volume as she descended in stature. During the brief entrance, she excused herself for barging in, and introduced herself to the absent professor as Janelle West, journalist with the city's major newspaper. Her breath is however cut short, and as the light dissipates, she collapses to her hands and knees, gasping for air.
She clutches her chest and turns her head upwards. Standing over her, holding the smoking gun, her shrill voice pleads panicked, "Don't hurt me! I'm- I'm just a journalist. I- I'm sorry. I was only here for an interview with Professor Montana. Please, don't shoot whoever you are! Don't hurt me. Let me go, please!"
You don't react. It seems she doesn't realize anything is different about her. The matter transposer appears to work flawlessly, though it's left you in a bit of a difficult spot. Holding a reporter at the business end of a science-fiction ray gun isn't the best way to get by unnoticed. Janelle takes a risk and jumps to her feet, flying for the door only to run face first into the door handle. Grabbing her nose, she steps back confused, terrified. She turns back to you and begs you again, "I- I don't understand. What happened to me? Please, please let me go!"
