During the date Trevor makes another inadvertan...

‘Micki’ did her best to avoid listening to anybody’s conversation as to not accidentally have to grant a wish. Micki knew she was gaining control over her genie powers and could probably wish herself out of the situation. But she didn’t want to risk the fate of finding out what would happen if she didn’t follow through with Trevor’s wish. All she had to do was pretend to enjoy the night and hopefully avoid any more wishes.

The first hiccup of the evening happened when the food came. Trevor saw his food and absentmindedly made a wish out loud, “Your chicken looks great. I wish I ordered that instead!” Knowing it was a harmless wish, Micki granted the wish and moments later, Trevor’s food was chicken. Trevor went on eating not having any recollection of the change of order.

When dessert came is when it got interesting. Micki had managed to relax a little and was having fun after a few glasses of wine. It would be a funny story to tell Denise all about it when he got home about his fake date with Trevor. Micki also knew this would help with researching material for the next novel. However, Micki didn’t realize she was accidentally smiling and flirting with Trevor. Trevor sighed and said outloud, “It’s too bad you don’t live back home in my state. There aren’t many women as fun as you to hang out with.”

Micki cringed and was lucky that Treavor didn’t mention that was a wish. Micki had no idea how to handle that sort of thing as a genie. After avoiding the issue for the rest of the meal, it was time to go. Trevor sighed one last time and said, “Doesn’t dating suck? It would be so much easier to skip the first few years of getting to know somebody. I just wish I could suddenly be in love and married with a few kids. It would be much easier.”

Micki cringed again. “Oh no!” Micki thought realizing Treavor made a wish. “How do I wish that to happen?” Micki thought. The genie inside Micki suddenly went stir crazy and knew the wish had to be granted. Micki didn’t want to risk finding out what happened by not granting it.

Micki closed her eyes and suddenly felt very different. She slowly opened them and looked down. To her shock, she now had a pregnant belly! “What the….?” Micki thought as she rubbed her belly and saw a wedding ring on her finger. Next, she looked at the previously empty chair to see a 18 month old baby girl sitting in a high chair. Trevor was across the table and asked, “Sweetie? Is everything okay? You look like you just saw a ghost?”

Micki suddenly realized that Trevor’s wish was granted. They were now married with an infant and another on the way. Micki stood up and felt how her center of gravity was off with her enormously pregnant belly. Surprisingly, the first thought Micki had was how unique of an experience this was. Micki would be able to put herself into the mind of a pregnant woman and have some more material to write about in the next novel. Rubbing her belly, Micki cracked grin and said, “OMG. This feels so weird!”

Trevor stood up quickly and said, “What is it? Are you having contractions? It’s too early! The baby isn’t due for another 2 weeks!” Trevor grabbed the infant out of the high chair in a panic and said, “Come on sweetie! Let’s get you to the hospital!”

Micki didn’t know much about being a pregnant woman. More or less knowing what the feeling of contractions were like. Besides the uncomforatableness of suddenly having a bowling ball sized stomach, Micki didn’t feel that bad. The last thing Micki wanted to do right now was end up in a hospital in this new reality. Micki knew she had to stop Trevor and replied, “It’s okay. I’m not having contractions. I just….uh…The baby was kicking…”

Trevor was relieved, “Okay. Let’s go home and let you relax.” They walked out to the car and Micki followed like a zombie wondering where they were. Instead of the rural restaurant near the farm, they were now exiting a restaurant into a suburban area city. Trevor buckled the infant into a baby seat and Micki got in the passenger side. As Trevor drove away, Micki looked around wondering what city they were in now. Micki was amazed at her genie power. Somehow, Trevor’s wish had been granted and reality seemed to shift. A few turns later, Micki recognized the housing development and finally realized they were pulling into Trevor’s house. Micki giggled, “I guess this is my house now too!”
