Hannah savagely drove her heels into her palfrey's sides and, to her credit, the mare fairly leaped beyond the circling black-cloaked Lannisters.
"My lady, this is foolishness," called the golden haired spy, but she left him behind as she road madly into the circling wood.
I can't imagine much worse than to be at the mercy of the Lannisters, she thought. The green forest battered and blinded her as she fled, but she dare not let up or they would have her. She heard pursuit even over the thwack thwack of the low hanging branches.
She dared the briefest of glances to gauge her pursuers, it showed her nothing. Before she could even turn back, a brutal crack sent stars before her eyes and she was falling, only to be plunged into dark when the fall from hurtling horse ended against the unforgiving ground.

She awoke, aching and in the dark. Something moved away from her in the direction of a dim light.
