It could be something different altogether happ...

Someone in our world is reading "Changing the World: Remote Control" when they hear a nock at the door. When they answer the door, they find a box that is similar to that of the box from the series. When they look inside they find a remote and a manual. After reading the manual, they realize that this remote is the same one from the story they were just reading. After thinking of all the possibility, a thought occurred to them, "What if fuse myself to the remote?". Before we begin our tale, which gender is our main character?
