Helena saw you with Denise’s shoes

On the safety of your home and after a refreshing beer to calm you down a bit, you could reflect on the scary and exhilarating experience that was smelling the shoes of your nemesis. Because you kept your fetish as a secret you never had or gave yourself the chance to open up with any of your previous dates about this, so beyond the odd video or surprisingly detailed story you could find on the net, this was your first taste of one of those fantasy scenarios that constantly ran through your head.

For better and for worse, the experience didn't disappoint at all! Even after a couple of hours Denise left you were able to clearly detect a slight odor of sweat mixed with a slight vanilla scent and the leather from the shoe. It was heavenly! too bad the smell belonged to someone who hates your guts, and the access to the smell is always going to be restricted by the risk that surrounds it. As someone who cares deeply about having a good financial and career stability you definitely would think twice before doing such a thing again, just a random noise scared you to death back then. You commit to restrain yourself from further risky actions as you spend a good hour or so revisiting the scene and trying to rationalize what was it that you loved so much before finally going to sleep, a lingering thought about how the thrill of getting caught enhanced the experience refusing to get crushed by your sensible mind.

The next day you have better things to focus your mind on, you still have a lot of work to do in order to cover every single question this key client might ask you, and if your presentation goes well you could have a really good argument to ask for a promotion. You limit the small talk with your coworkers, graciously taking Denise's jab of the day and quickly asking a question Michelle had, and even barely registering how Denise is using again those leather flats, or how Michelle will seemingly come to work always on sandals.

There is one thing that distracted you though, when Helena the janitor entered your field of vision and reminded you of that noise you felt the previous night. You couldn't help but stare for a couple of seconds and get nervous as she returned your stare with her typical indifferent gaze, but also with her mouth showing something between curiosity and disbelief. You knew she didn't like you thanks to some nasty rumours Denise and her friend Candice made up, but even after trying to clear things up and apologizing the relationship didn't improve, you simply weren't on speaking terms.

"What?" Helena said rudely, cocking her head slightly

"Eh? N..Nothing, I was just thinking of something.. Hi Helena, sorry" you stammered scratching your head and apologizing for staring like that. You thought it came of natural, you certainly had your mind busy today. Averting your gaze, you looked down and spotted the battered but reliable tennis shoes she was wearing and looked back at her.


"Hmph..ok" she moved on after staring at you for an extra second or too, you could see her frowning for half a second at you before moving on, but you didn't think much of it. She didn't like you, it made sense you thought.

Your discipline and focus on the workday got rewarded with big progress, you were almost done with the presentation to a level you felt satisfied with, but once again you had to stay late. Everyone could tell you were busy, as your coworkers left you got some friendly encouragement from your boss Kim and no snide comments about time management from Denise. When you were done two hours later you went for coffee, then back to your seat and basked in the feeling of a job well done before checking your surroundings and noticing Denise's flats were exposed, again.

As you finished your coffee you battled with your inner desires. The office looked empty, you could have another dose of that perfect smell to celebrate.. You could even double check to make sure the office is empty and Helena is not around. From Helena's reaction it seemed you got away with it before.
