You entered the restaurant and see what you thought was a family. Two adults in their early forties and what looked like their children a girl about seventeen and a boy about nineteen sitting with them. You looked into their minds and you found out it wasn't a family, but the girl was dating the boy and they were having dinner together with her parents as sort of a get to know you dinner. The girl hoped her parents would like the boy since she loved him very much. The boy loved the girl too.
You thought this was very nice but it was also very ordinary. You didn't think the relationship of the two teens would last. It rarely did. You decided to mix it up a little bit and of course make all the relationships last. You first changed it that it wasn't the teens who was dating, but it was the men who were dating. The 'father' didn't consider himself married to his wife, he was dating the teen boy. It was the daughter and mother who considered themselves married.
Everyone involved knew that society wouldn't be very accepting of their relationship. They were going to have this get together to decide how to look normal to the public but have the relationship they wanted.
The names of the four people were Charlotte and Alex the mother and father, and Anna and Heath the two teens.
Charlotte (the mother) spoke first, "Well I think the first thing we need to do is for Anna to move into the master bedroom with me."
Alex said, "Well where will I sleep then, in Anna's room?"
"No don't be ridiculous. You will sleep in the guestroom. Who is going to know where you sleep? Besides we need to keep Anna's room like it is for appearances. Anna's friends might become suspicious if she didn't have a room of her own."
"That makes sense. There is a full bed in the guestroom. Heath and I can spend time there."
"Can I sleep over?" Heath said hopefully.
"No," said Alex, "you know I would love that, but people would talk if you spent the night. Anna is still underage. We wouldn't look like responsible parents."
"How about when Anna becomes eighteen?"
"I don't know. But I think you can stay late into the night as long as you don't sleep over....and as long as Charlotte and I are home." Heath smiled broadly.
Anna stated, "Charlotte and I can go out on any date we like."
"Yeah. And on those nights Heath can come over."
"I wish I could take you out on a date," Heath said.
"Well the closest we can come is a double date with Anna and Charlotte."
"I would prefer to be alone, but I see what you mean. You and I would look awfully odd being out alone together," Heath said to Alex.
The four continued their planning. As far as everyone knew, it would look perfectly normal. Anna would pretend to date Heath and no one would be any the wiser.
