Chapter #7

Capturing the Merged Riolus

    by: Unknown
Enough time had passed so Quinn was fully recovered and ready to take on the strange Riolus. Following a command from Jodi, Quinn used Bubble, firing a barrage of orbs straight at the joined Riolus.

"Quick dodge!" Ramon called out. Each tried jumping in the opposite direction and fell forward onto their chest. "Oof!" A grunt escaped Ramon's mouth. Thankfully, falling forward helped them dodge the bubble attack from Quinn. The bubbles flew over head, missing them by inches. "Well, that's not what I meant, but it worked."

"No, this is not going to work!" Damon yelled to his joined friend. "How are we going to fight! We can barely move like this!" It became obvious to both Riolus that each only controlled half of their new body. Every move they made would have to be a joint, coordinated effort.

"Huh, I wonder if these were the two Riolus I saw earlier? What happened to them?" Jodi picked up on the two-headed Riolus weakness. "Quinn, you can take them!" Jodi yelled to her Pokemon, refocusing on the battle. "Use Bubble again!"

"Alright!" Quinn said to himself. "Bubble!" He yelled, unleashing more blue orbs towards the fallen Riolus.

Damon and Ramon had worked their body back to a standing position, barely. Their individual legs were wobbling, having a hard time balancing their shared frame. "Should we dodge?" Damon asked quickly.

"No, you're right; we can hardly move. Just follow my lead. Focusing your aura and think of water. We're going to mimic the Piplup's move." Ramon replied. A light blue aura covered their body. "COPYCAT!" both of them yelled. Many more blue orbs were fired from the joined pair. These orbs collided with Quinn's and overtook them; blasting Quinn backwards.

"WHAT!" Jodi exclaimed. "We shouldn't have underestimated them! Come on Quinn! This isn't over yet." Quinn slowly rose to his feet.

"Wow!" Both Damon and Ramon exclaimed. They looked at each other, astonished by the power they demonstrated. "I guess there is at least one benefit to this strange fusion."

"Yeah! I can't believe how strong we are together." Ramon smiled brightly. In his excitement, he tried jumping into the air. This only resulted in their body loosing balance. Their arms swung widely trying to keep themselves righted.

"Quinn, now's your chance! Use Peck!" Jodi exclaimed. Quinn made a quick nod to his trainer before dashing forward. His beak glowed white. He used all his force to topple the Riolu pair over. "Now, use Brine!" Quinn took a deep breathe, expanding his body slightly. He then fired a powerful stream of water and the knocked over pair. The blast of water knocked the Riolus into a tree.

"Go pokeball!" With perfect aim, Jodi threw a pokeball at the Damon and Ramon. It hit them on their shared belly and swallowed them in a dazzling light. Three shakes later, Damon and Ramon were captured.

You have the following choices:
