Back Down the Belly

The rope was inches from Salama's hands when Olivia let out another moan. The look on her face made him pause. She just looked so... happy. So content, as if she was savoring the most delicious flavor in the world.

"So good," she murmured in her sleep, smiling as she sucked on the thrashing human who was only a foot away from salvation. Salama knew he should help, knew it was the moral thing to do, knew that no one deserved Greg's fate, but at the same time the love of his life looked like she was in such pure bliss, such unbridled ecstasy, that the mere thought of doing something to ruin her happiness broke his heart. The dragon hesitated for an extra second. Unfortunately for Greg, that second was the difference between freedom and imprisonment.

Olivia clapped her jaws shut. The rope snapped between her teeth and she slurped it up like a noodle. Salama watched numbly as Olivia sucked on her midnight snack with renewed vigor. She giggled in her sleep as the human screamed for help, but help was impossible now. Salama had had his chance to do the right thing and now there was nothing he could do but watch in terrified fascination.

Before a minute of sucking and slurping had passed, Olivia was working Greg back to the back of her throat. He was soaked to the bone in drool, and exhausted from both the hard climb and the relentless tongue-lashing Olivia was literally giving him. He looked over his shoulder and cried out in terror. The black pit of her esophagus was right behind him. As he neared, a prolonged gurgle came from her gullet. It almost sounded like the dragon's stomach was calling him home.

She swallowed once and the next thing Greg knew his legs had disappeared down her throat. He clutched desperately for purchase on the slimy tongue, but couldn't get a grip. Olivia moaned happily in her sleep, Greg's kicks actually tickling her instead of disturbing her. Greg sobbed pitifully. Not again! Not after he was so close at escape!

Olivia let out a breathy sigh. Her mouth opened a fraction. There was just enough light to see Salama staring at him from atop the flabby mountaintop that was her stomach. The little dragon met his eyes and shrugged apologetically.

"HELP M--"

*Gluck*

Olivia swallowed again, and Greg was gone. Salama watched a thrashing, bulging form travel down the dragon's throat. It caught for a second and Salama was worried his lady love would choke, but she merely swallowed a third time and the lump that was the human known as Greg continued his journey without further delay. She devoured him with barely more effort than she had the ham. The little dragon could hear Greg as he landed back in the stomach. He wasted no time in thrashing against the walls and screaming curses.

The stomach groaned and, without waking from her slumber, Olivia let out an explosion of pent-up gas.

"UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRPPPPPPPP PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!"

The belch washed over Salama with the force of a hurricane. He had to dig his fingers into her stomach to stop himself from being blown off her belly and across the room. His eyes watered from the smell, a potent combination of ham, boardwalk food, and enraged hotel employee. The flavor combination was apparently a favorite of Olivia's as she smiled and smacked her lips in her sleep. The entire escape attempt had tried and failed and she'd slept through it all. Greg was right. She really was one of the deepest sleepers alive.

Salama felt happy at seeing the look of pure contentment on her face. She was utterly and completely satisfied. The sight of her happy warmed his heart. He knew he was a lovelorn sap but he didn't care. Truly this goddess among women deserved to be happy every moment of her life, whether waking or not.

The little dragon's good feelings lasted until a punch came through the layers of Olivia's flab and threatened to knock him off.

"WHAT THE HELL'S THE MATTER WITH YOU?!" Greg screamed. "I WAS RIGHT THERE! YOU COULD'VE PULLED ME OUT! YOU COULD'VE SAVED ME! I WAS RIGHT THERE!"

"It was too risky," Salama said. "If I reached out she could've swallowed me in her sleep as well, then we both would've been stuck without help!" He felt ashamed lying but he knew Greg wouldn't understand. Clearly the human had never been in love before, otherwise he would've recognized the importance of making sacrifices for the sake of your relationship.

"That's bull crap!" Greg screamed. "We both know you could've helped me, you just didn't want to! You want to keep me trapped in here because I add to her figure!"

"That's not true," Salama mumbled awkwardly. Ok, it was a little true. Salama really did only want Olivia to be happy, but he had to admit that the human was somehow the perfect shape to contribute to Olivia's physique. It was like they were two puzzle pieces that fit together perfectly. Salama couldn't explain it, but it was almost like Greg belonged in Olivia's gut forever.

The thought of condemning a person--even one as foul-tempered as Greg--to an eternity imprisoned inside another person horrified Salama. He had always considered himself to be a good and moral person. He'd never hurt a fly. How could he even be contemplating leaving Greg to his fate?

"SAL! GET ME OUT OF HERE!"

"I... uh... I need to get rid of the rope before Olivia wakes up. I'll think of another way to get you out. You stay here." The dragon flinched. "Sorry... guess you don't have a choice."

"SAL! Don't you leave me! SAL!"

The little dragon scooched off Olivia's thrashing stomach and cleared away the evidence. He delayed in returning to Olivia no matter how much he wanted to. He needed time to think. Olivia loved having Greg in there. Salama loved having Greg in Olivia. But it was wrong! He had an obligation to free him. It's not like Salama could come up with a way for Greg to live inside Olivia forever... Or could he?

You have the following choices:

1. Yes, he'll keep Greg alive and trapped

*Pen*
2. No, he'll make another attempt to free him

*Pen* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
