"Who’s there?" The twi'lek says, in human language.
"Damn. She saw me." you say.
She walks towards where you’re hiding. "I know you’re there. Show yourself."
"Can’t let her see me."
Taking a chance, you go into the deep parts of the X-wing. She looks at where you were hiding, but sees no one.
"Where are you?" she says.
"Ok, I just need to stay hidden until Rey comes back." you say.
You work your way out of the X-wing and land on the soft sand.
"I know I saw a small human around here." she says.
"Great." you say quietly.
You hide behind a severed wing.
After searching and coming up empty, the twi'lek calls out to you. "I know your still here, human. I’ll find you."
"Sounds like won’t let me go if she does." you say.
You see that you could get away into the open desert, but you’d have to run quickly.
"If I could make that run, I’m home free. But what if Rey comes back? Who knows what this twi'lek will do?" you say.
While thinking about running, you see a giant eye looming right above you.
"Found you!" she says.
"Shit!" You back up and run from her before she could grab you.
"Hey! Get back here!" she says.
You make your way to a TIE fighter wing, but she grabs you, before you can get behind it.
"Gotcha!" she says.
Her grip on you is tight. You can barely breath or speak.
"I didn’t think I'd find a tiny human all the way out here," she says.
"Look… I’m sure… we can talk about this." you say.
"About what? You’re tiny, I caught you, and by scavenging law, you’re mine," she says.
"T-That scavenging law isn’t a thing! You're making that up!"
"Are you getting an attitude with someone who can easily turn you to mush?"
Her grip tightens on you. You feel like your body is going to explode.
"Feel that? All that pressure? A little more and you’ll pop." she says, easing her grip on you. "Now should I keep you or sell you off? A tiny human must be worth a fortune."
"Y-You can’t just sell me! I’m a person! Not an object!" you say.
Her grip tightens again. "You’re whatever I decided. Person, object, whatever. You got that?"
"L-Loud… and c-clear." you say.
"Now who would-" she says, before she’s hit over the head with a blunt object. "Ugh!"
You suddenly find yourself freefalling to the ground, but are caught in a pair of soft hands.
"Rey!" You say happily.
"Sorry for taking so long," Rey says. "I rushed over as soon as I was done unloading everything we got."
"I say we call it a day." you say.
"Did she hurt you?" Rey says concerned.
"She squeezed me pretty good, but nothing broken."
"All I need to hear." Rey pulls out her blaster, and holds it against the twi'lek's head. "Come near him again and I’ll splatter your brains all over the desert!"
Rey, holding you close to her, gets in her speeder and drives away.
Arriving home, she looks over you. "Are you still hurting?"
"My… bones will heal. The thought of being sold is what’s getting to me." you say.
"Sold?!" Rey says.
"Yeah," you say. "Whereas you were joking, she was thinking of either keeping or selling me."
Rey gently rubs you on your back to comfort you. "It’s ok. She’ll have to go through me first. And I won’t let her take you from me."
"Thanks… That brings me some sense of safety."
"Can you at least still move?"
"I can, but if you’re expecting me to climb you any time soon, it’s going to take a while before I can."
"I guess no more scavenging until you’re ok again."
"I’ll just stay here," you say. "Don’t let me stop you from your payday. I can nurse myself."
"No, you’re under my care and supervision," Rey says. "Like I said before, you’re more important to me than anything. Scrap, credits, all of it combined. If it means keeping you safe, I’ll give it all up."
"I don’t think you need to go that far just for me… but thanks anyway," you say. "So, are you going to the outpost or going back out there?"
"I want to stay and make sure you’re ok."
"Rey, I don’t want to stop you from doing what you’re good at. You’ve been doing all this before you met me. I don’t want you to just drop everything because of my stature. It’s good you care, but don’t make me the center of everything."
"I… just want to make sure nothing happens to my little love," she says.
"With you, nothing will," you say. "As much as you care for me, I don't think even a Sith lord will try anything. But don’t let it me be the center of your world. So, what are you going to do?"
Rey sighs. "Ok, ok, you talked me into it. I’ll do what I usually do."
"That’s my giant lover." you say. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
