Jia did terrible on the test

Mrs. Smith handed Jia her test.
"Aw, only 49%? I got an F? But I really studied hard on that one!" Jia said.
Jia had never been the best a vocabulary tests. Mrs. Smith looked the little girl in the face.
"I expected better of you, Jia. Normally you're one of my best students. You really need to step it up if you want to pass the Vocabulary portion of my class." Mrs. Smith said.
"I... I will." Jia said.
"I really mean it, Jia. You're not an F Grade student. You better get a passing grade next time, all right?" Mrs. Smith said.
"...Okay." Jia timidly said.
She shamefully folded up her failed test and tucked it away in her backpack. Mrs. Smith turned to Cassy.
"You, Cassy, on the other hand, got 100%, best in the class! Great job!" Mrs. Smith said.
"Thank you, Mrs. Smith!" Cassy said.
Mrs. Smith reached into her pocket and took out a peppermint candy.
"Here you go, Cassy. You earned it." Mrs. Smith said.
Cassy quickly took the peppermint and began sucking it. Students who got good grades in Mrs. Smith's class got rewarded with candy... or sometimes something better, but usually with candy.

Mrs. Smith went back to the front of the classroom to start her lecture.
"Sorry you didn't do so well." Cassy said.
"Thanks. I... I'll do better next time." Jia said.

Jia did her best to pay attention during Mrs. Smith's lecture. However, she was feeling stressed after Mrs. Smith's stern talk. She shifted in her seat and could feel her insides telling her she would need a diaper change soon. Her tummy rumbled. Jia quietly groaned.
