Roy quietly made himself a bowl of cereal, simply nodding when ‘Jack’ handed him the milk. He sat down next to him at the dining table, taking small bites of his cereal, and observed how ‘Jack’ and Sarah interacted. Not much had changed, from what he gathered. Except…
“Babe, you need to start getting some new clothes. Your pants look super tight on you, how long have you had that pair?” Sarah said, looking all concerned. “Or maybe…start eating a little less?”
‘Jack’ rolled his eyes at her comment. “Look Sarah, I appreciate the concern, but I’m doing my best here. I go to the gym like three, four times a week. Plus, I’m tryna bulk right now! I gotta eat a lot more protein, if anything else. Roy, you get it right?”
Roy had to stop himself from doing a spit take just then. Mrs.Sanchez’s body, while not totally unfit, was from the image of perfect health like Jack’s was. “I don’t know man, you do look like you could hit the threadmill a bit more.” Roy said slyly, eliciting a punch in his shoulder from Jack.
“Hey screw you man, not all of us can be 6’3 bean poles who can eat everything and still be skinny!” Jack said, offended. Sarah giggled at the two’s remarks, opting to join in.
“Hey, Roy’s not the one with bigger boobs than me.” She said, poking at his shirt. Jack pretended to look offended, holding a feminine hand to his chest.
“And here I thought you loved my boobs.”
“That and other things.” Sarah said, smiling as she gave ‘Jack’ a kiss on the cheek as she got up to put the dishes away.
So it seemed Jack still regarded himself as a man, but also acknowledged the reality of his body having female characteristics and a little overweight. Yet nothing between Jack and Sarah’s relationship really appeared to have changed, still treating each other like normal. But what if the roles were reversed?
Without hesitation, Roy activated the Role Swapper, using on his two unaware roommates.

When Roy’s vision cleared, he was yet again astounded at the site, though it wasn’t as impressive as the first. Next to him now sat Sarah in Jack’s place! She was dressed exactly the way he was, though ‘his’ clothes didn’t seem as ill fitting before. He continued to eat his cereal like nothing happened.
Meanwhile, over at the sink was Maria, dressed in Sarah’s clothes! Though not as outrageous in Sarah’s casual stay at home fit of a tank top and shorts as she was in Jack’s clothes, she looked very much like an older woman trying to dress in clothes that fit her a decade and two children ago.
“Alright babe, you ready to go for that hike?” ‘Jack’ said his now higher voice. Sarah seemed to be doing the same thing that Maria did when she was in Jack’s role, trying to sound as gruff and male as possible. He gor up and walked his dish over the sink, putting his arms around ‘Sarah’.
Maria in the meanwhile, spoke in her regular tone of voice, albeit with some of Sarah’s intonations. “Yeah, lemme just grab my water. Thanks again for coming with me babe, I really wanna lose some weight before Rayanna’s wedding, my bridesmaid dress was super tight. Roy, do you wanna join us?”
“Sorry, uh, I got work later. Maybe another time.” Roy said. He did indeed have work, but he was strongly considering calling in sick so he could mess around with this device more. He marveled at how neither of them seemed to find anything wrong with Jack having Sarah’s body, or Sarah having the overweight body of a Mexican woman several years her senior.
“Alright, we’ll catch you later dude!” ‘Jack’ said, as he flawlessly gave Roy their signature handshake. Roy felt a little weirded out over doing it with Sarah, but reminded himself that for all intents and purposes, he was speaking to his best friend, or more technically, his best friend’s girlfriend that believed she was his best friend, or her boyfriend. ‘Sarah’ waved Roy goodbye, before opening the door and walking out. ‘Jack’ followed her, and before the door could close, Roy saw him slap Sarah’s now rather plump bottom.
“Somethings never change, huh?” Roy said to himself, chuckling. He was now alone, armed with nothing but a powerful reality altering device from another dimension. What to do now?
