This choice: Zoe steps through the door. • Go Back...Chapter #5Zoe steps through the door. by: Morphology   Zoe stepped through the door of Wilkos with Carly's list in her hand. It seemed more crowded than usual with teenagers and others who had remembered about the festival nearby. She walked the aisles gathering the items on the list and also looking to see if there was somebody needing her help. She found some other customers that seemed to holler for her attention, 'Look at me' or 'How pathetic do I look?' But she kept on course, navigating the store in search of the perfect person or couple of people. She then made her way over to the Stationary Department and noticed that there were 2 male employees working it. 'It's Carly's friend, what's his name...' She thought to herself as she tried to remember his name, but for the time being, it escaped her. But from what she remembers Carly saying about him, he seemed to be a homebody. She looked at her list and noticed that Carly was in need of some computer paper for the Salon printer. As she approached, she noticed the names on the name tags. Steven and Josh, and she couldn't help but overhear their conversation.
"So, I was working on this quest, when this level 45 witch doctor came out and started attacking me." Steven was telling Josh, who seemed to be amused by the tale. Then Steven turned his head and noticed Zoe walking in the aisle. "Hey Zoe, can I help you with something?"
Zoe looked at the 2 of them and had an idea go through her head, but first she needed to test it out. "No, I'm good. So are you guys going to go to the festival this weekend" She asked trying to see what their answers would be.
"No, I'm not too good in crowds." Josh answered. "I would rather be at home or watching a movie."
"That's too bad." Zoe answered as a smirk came across her face. "How about you Steven?"
Steven shook his head. "No, I have a couple of new games I was going to play. Besides, it won't be anything new."
"Aww." Zoe said as she thought about who she thought was worthy enough to help out. 'I think I just found them, Josh doesn't like crowds and Steven thinks the same old stuff.' "What would you say if I help you both out?" Zoe announced as she looked at them both. "I can help you, Josh, tolerate or even love crowds and I can make it so you love seeing things, even if they are old and not too amusing."
Josh looked at her. "I would love it. I would love not having the urge to hurt people." Josh said as he laughed nervously. This caused Zoe to smile in triumph.
"How about you Steven?" She asked.
"You know what, I have lived here for the most of my life. If you can make it so that that I wold love to go, I would say yes." Steven answered chuckling.
"So I have you guys on bored?" She asked as she stuck out her hand. Both Josh and Steven shook her hand, not really knowing what they would be getting into.
"So what do we do? Go to a counselor?" Josh said grinning.
"Not really, it will be a slow process, but I think you will be ready by tomorrow." Zoe said smiling. "But let me start you both with a starter gift. Something that is close to mine and Carly's hearts. Just then, two teenagers, a blonde with hair going down to her middle back and a brunette who had hers going down to her shoulders, were walking by. Zoe concentrated on the both of them and they now sported Josh's and Steven's hairstyles. Zoe heard as gasp and she looked over to see both Josh and Steven in shock. Josh now sported the blonde's long hair that now cascaded down his back and Steven had the brunette's shoulder length style.
"What happened?" Steven asked, flabbergasted at what just transpired. He looked at Josh who brought his hands up to his hair and watched him tug at it and wince in pain.
"It's real." Zoe said chuckling at the sight of them.
"Why...?" Josh started to say, but was interrupted by Zoe.
"Why did I do this?" She said completing his sentence for him. Josh nodded. "Well, I got some new power that allows me to swap traits and attributes from one person to another. With this newly acquired power, I decided to take on a little project to help you two out and I am proud to say that you two are now on your way." Zoe smiled at the two of them.
"On our way to what, exactly?" Josh wondered as he tried to keep his newly acquired hair out of his face.
"It won't be a surprise if I tell you. Let's just say that it will definitely help you out in the end." Zoe said to him. "Would you like me to help you with that? After all, it's what I do anyway." Josh nodded and he soon found his blonde hair up and out of the way, but in a feminine bun style.
