"Steven! Steven what on Earth are you doing in there!?!?!" a voice barked from behind his bedroom door.
"Bollocks! It's Dad!" Steven looked down at his strange new form, and the face now looking out from against his tight little belly. His heart was racing. What was he to do?!?!
"Look kid, stay calm. The fight or flight response of a Vampire is pretty easy to lose control of. Especially for a novice with no..." the face said with an even, almost musical tone.
Steven covered his ears with his new gloved hands, his face a grimace as he closed his eyes. "How am I going to explain this?!? What do I do?!? What do I do?!?! What do I..."
<KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK>
"I told you. CALM. DOWN. You have got to keep a reign on..." the belly-face continued.
"I'm getting the key!" His Dad growled through the bedroom door.
Steven began to hyperventilate as he paced around the room on his new stiletto heels.
"Kid...I can feel your heart beating a mile a minute. Just breath easy. Tell your Dad you're not..." the belly-face offered.
Before it could finish, Steven's body sunk into a low crouch on all fours. Steven, not wanting to do that, looked incredibly surprised. "I-I'm not moving! Why can't I stop myself from..."
Before he could finish, his body leaped forward launching itself out his bedroom window as Steven screamed helplessly!
The face on his mid-riff sighed. "Too late."
Glass flying through the air into the yard beneath it, Steven's form moved with lightning speed and cat-like grace as it came to a landing on all fours. Scrambling up, his errant body ran like a Cheetah down the street and away from his home. A man watering his lawn watched the strange figure rush by in dumbstruck awe.
"Stop! Stop damn you!!!" Despite his shouts, his body continued to run away at speeds his stiletto heeled boots SHOULD have made impossible. His eyes wide with horror, Steven could do nothing but ride along. For the moment, his new body was in charge and he was just a passenger.
The face on his belly closed it's eyes and let out an exasperated sigh.
After 15 minutes or so, Steven found himself leaping off of an unfamiliar bridge, his body gracefully dropping into a slower jog as it ducked into a long darkened drainage tunnel. His boot heels clicked on the concrete even as his steps sent up small splashes of water.
Finally, his body slowed down and came to a stop. "I-I'm able to move again." Steven held his arms up and looked down at his new body. "I'm not even tired? And the Sun didn't burn this time?"
The face on his belly chuckled. "Stamina is the least of what you've got now kid. And don't worry about the Sun, I'm protecting you."
Running a claw-like, gloved hand over his cheek, Steven wondered aloud. "The Sun didn't burn my face?"
"That's because your melon is still human. You haven't become a full Vampire yet." the face answered.
"Vampire?!?!" Steven couldn't believe the bizarre turn his existence had taken.
"Allow me to fill you in..." the belly-face answered.
