-A story route requested by another user-
This afternoon was going to be a bit weird, Kris was sure.
School was out early, but in her typical fashion, the human teen's monster mother, Toriel, had insisted that he not simply spend his added free time on video games or any other fun distraction. Instead, she had insisted that his classmate Susie be invited over to their house to study for their next upcoming units at their high school. Susie had only just managed to scrape by on their previous few tests, and Kris had made the mistake of briefly mentioning this during a conversation a few days prior, which had been all the information Toriel needed to come up with this idea.
And so, Kris found himself lying on his back on his bed, idly fiddling with a small gadget he had been loaned by his teacher, the rather nervous Ms. Alphys. Alphys hadn't mentioned what the gadget actually was - Kris began to wonder if she even knew. He was fairly certain that Alphys tended to invent random machines and odd items like this in her spare time, hoping to show them to her students to try and build up a reputation for herself as the "cool" teacher.
If that was the plan, it wasn't working, in Kris's opinion.
He'd been waiting a while, and finally heard a familiar noise from the house's entryway. That would be Susie arriving, and Toriel letting her in.
Sitting up, Kris gave the gadget in his hand one more mildly interested look. It had started making small sounds a few minutes ago, making him briefly believe that it might have actually been preparing to do something interesting, but then it hadn't. As usual for things Alphys built.
He set the object down and got to his feet. He was just about to head for the door when the device began to make a different sound from before. This one was louder, and getting sharper by the second.
"Hm...?"
Kris only just had time to turn around and look back at the dresser the gadget was resting on before it gave off a flash of blinding light, and he staggered on the spot, nearly falling over.
When his vision cleared up seconds later, Kris briefly thought that he had somehow been transported somewhere, but after a moment, he came to a bizarre realization.
He was still on his bedroom floor, but the gadget Alphys had lent to him had somehow caused him to shrink in size. He was, at best, now an inch or so in height.
This was an alarming development on its own, of course, but after another few seconds, he felt the floor begin to shudder.
Toriel must have just sent Susie up to meet him.
He froze up, wondering what he was supposed to do, and then the bedroom door opened, a light breeze of wind pushing past him.
Susie was here.
His monster classmate was looking about the same as usual, with her incredibly tattered clothes and shaggy hair unchanged from the last time he'd seen her.
Susie looked around the room in silence, towering over him from across the lengthy space of the floor.
"Hm." she grunted, likely wondering where he was.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
