The only real choice he had if he wanted something resembling a good performance would be to transfer Will Powers into Maya's body. But that presented it's own problem. What if Will said no, either before or after the swap? Will could refuse to swap with Maya, or, after having swapped with her, could refuse to play the Pink Princess without Maya's consent. There were a few ways to handle this, but they all started with the same question:

Would Sal tell Will about his plan before he put it in action?
