With a small sigh of relief you open your heart to the snake. You tell her all about the invasion, how the aliens overthrew every nation on Earth in a span of days. You mention the pheromone and Bear nods intently as you describe its effects. "Yesss, that does ssseem to match what I've ssseen the last few daysss. You humansss are already so ssslow, but ever since the invasssion you all dropped to a new low. No complaintsss from me though. Food hasss never been easier to find." You gulp a little. Bear never gave you a straight answer on the eating front, which you kind of expected. It's still quite unsettling. You clear your throat and continue talking. Your immunity causes her to perk up for a second, curious about what made you so special.
Next you tell Bear the reason you're here. Your mission to stop the Queen. The huge snake snorts with laughter. "You? Ssstop the Queen? Hahahaha, you humansss always had a funny sssense of humor." Smugly, she continues. "There'sss no chance you can ssstand up to her. Your whole planet fell to her might in daysss. What is one little man going to do?" You rub your brow heavily. Were you a bold man, you could consider asking Bear to join your cause. But the snake might not be too interested in getting involved. On the other hand, she's one of the first creatures you've met that didn't instantly want to eat or enslave you. That had to count for something. Cold sweat ran down your back. If you misjudged the situation, Bear would have you wrapped in coils and at her mercy in an instant. No, this opportunity was too great. She could be your golden ticket to beating the Queen once and for all.
You stood there, lost in thought. Only when you felt a wet, forked tongue brush against your face did you snap back to attention. "Isss everything alright, mighty warrior?" She said, stifling another fit of laughter. You put on your brave pants and reply. "I don't have a plan yet to beat the Queen, but I hope you might be interested in helping me."
Bear's head lifted in wicked curiosity. "Why would I help you?" You knew she would ask that and began you impassioned plea. "Because these aliens are taking away all the humans, leaving none for you. If we take out the Queen, they'll leave us alone. And besides, don't you want to know what an alien queen tastes like? I can be your ticket to getting to her. Simply pretend to hand me over and demand she comes out here. You do what you do best and put her in your belly. Everyone will be so happy with you for saving the planet, they'll do whatever you want." Bear's mind reeled with possibilities. She could be the saviour of Earth. A fitting title for a great snake like her. There was always time to eat the little human afterwards.
On the other hand she quite liked her little cozy life in here. If this struggle with the Queen didn't go as planned, she could stand to lose a lot. Though she didn't like the aliens, she did have to concede that her ability to speak and increased size were very nice. Then there's the human's plan. Why pretend to turn him in if she could just turn him in for real? The Queen would probably shower her in luxury. She might even offer a steady supply of pheromoned humans as food. The mere idea made her salivate a little.
The huge snake was in a bind. Would she help you to sate her huge ego? Or would she betray you and earn a queen's bounty? Or should she bother at all with these aliens and just eat the little man instead?
