"Jenna is here looking for you, Josh. She's waiting downstairs." Kim said before starting return downstairs to do the laundry.
Josh was not expecting his mom to say that and tried to play it off cool when she said it. "Okay mom, tell her I'll be downstairs in a couple of minutes."
"Don't be too long. You don't want to keep your friend waiting."
Bri could tell that there was something wrong when she saw a worried look on his face. "What's wrong big bro?" She said, trying to hold back some laughter.
"I don't want to hang out with your friend! We have nothing in common and I don't know how to be friends with an 8 year old girl!" Josh complained in a panic.
"I know how we can fix that!" Bri beamed.
"You do?" Josh asked, hoping his sister would suggest swapping friends back.
"Yep! We can swap the things we like so you can enjoy Jenna's favorite things more."
"Like interests?"
"Uh huh, that's the word I was thinking about."
Josh really did not like the sound of that, but it was either the extra swap or spending time with Bri's friend having no common interests. And he had to choose quickly, not wanting to keep Jenna waiting. "I guess it's not the worst idea..."
"Is that a yes or a no?" Bri questioned, eagerly waiting for an answer.
"Sure, I'll swap interests with you." There was a new flash that followed. Like the friends swap, there was nothing different physically about him or Bri. However, Josh immediately knew the swap worked because his attitude about Jenna's arrival had went from a feeling of negativity to excitement. Also, he was about to start playing video games before his new friend came, now he had to urge to go outside and kick the ball around with her. To top it off, his interest in watching that movie with Jenn had turned into watching some Disney Channel later on.
"See ya later sis!" Josh said in a hurry to find his friend.
"Wait!" Josh heard his sister say before he left the room. He turned around to face her. "Do you mind if I play your video games while your with Jenna?"
"I don't see why not, I don't even feel like playing them anyway." He said, tucking some rouge hairs behind his ear and making a dash to find his friend.
