Chapter #5The flight of Temria by: SweetGab Temria, like others of the Konyu species, was proceeding through the cosmos observing the billions of stars and planets. Created by one of the galaxy's greatest empires, The Udon Domain, millions of years ago, they are now the last remnants of this incredible and impossible-to-imagine institution. This does not mean that they are in a small number or the direction of extinction, instead, they are hundreds of millions of units due to their directive: The maintenance and the defence of the domain.
The disappearance of their creators and the passage of time have led the Konyu to become aware of themselves and proceed in their autonomous development. Planets and stars are only meant to be used for their survival and can be analyzed to be exploited to the fullest, conquered to serve as a simple stop or if there were already inhabitants, they would be "convinced" to go under their protection.
In this case, Temria had spotted a solar system useful for the needs of their species for some time. It was rare for a single yellow dwarf to retain 4 gas giants and 4 rocky planets complete with moons. All that unused hydrogen, helium and methane had to be reconverted for better uses. However, as it got closer to the system, her antennas picked up numerous radio waves, but they were too weak to be understood in their fullness. In the orbit of the blue giant she believed that they could be the usual waves coming from the parent star, but as she entered more this possibility diminished and the other hypothesis took the lead: an alien civilization.
The protocol was clear, in order to avoid problems in the near future it was necessary to take care of the inhabitants of the system in one way or another. Temria then sped toward the third planet relative to the star. Already from the distance of their moon, it was evident that the species was not very developed, it had not noticed other settlements outside that planet and except for the thick cloud of debris around the planet, there were few complex structures in the orbit. Many would have simply conquered civilization, but she did have a soft spot for those who are smaller than her. A civilization even hailed her as if she were a goddess.
But to avoid wasting time and being criticized by her "sisters" she decided to see the situation firsthand. Temria entered the gravitational sphere of the planet and began to slow down until she considered the distance sufficient for landing. For her, there were not even a few units, but for the inhabitants of the planet, as well as shaken by having discovered that they were not alone in the universe, the distance between the ground and the sole of her boots was at least 6/7 miles (10km).
And then she landed.
The impact was tremendous and was heard by all. Nearby seismographs went haywire due to the force they recorded. The cities and lands nearby shattered and cracked as a result of the blow. Temria was also a little surprised. She had not yet quantified the damage she had created by that simple gesture, but even in the previous experiences, the crust shattered after a few steps and not on impact. Evidently, the planet's density was below the galactic standard. She noted it down in her database.
Looking at the columns of smoke around and some jets of magma coming out of some mountains, the planet did not seem very stable. Her stay and waste of time in that environment were therefore not recommended. But it was also true that already from space she had noticed the enormous diversity of the biosphere. In-depth research prior to the exploitation of the system would have enriched Konyu's archives and possibly raised her ranks among the other "sisters".
While the whole world watched the giant cyborg and tried to find a solution in the general chaos, Temria pondered what to do. | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
