Sam picked the pendant necklace up as he said to himself, “yeah right like it will really grant my wish that I shrink a foot in height & reality changes as if I’m normally a foot shorter than I am right now.” Suddenly a weird cold tingling feeling shot down his spine. Sam actually had a sinking feeling for a few seconds but then it went away. Sam said to himself, “that was weird!” Sam set the pendant necklace down & turned to sit down at his computer when something caught his attention. Sam noticed his door seemed taller. But that’s impossible right. Sam thought, “it must be my imagination.” Sam walked over to his bedroom door to find his door was over a foot over his head. Normally the top of the door frame was a couple of inches above his head. Sam looked over at his bathroom door to see it also appeared to be the same.
Sam then looked at the pictures of his family & his girlfriend. The pictures definitely looked the same except he looked shorter. In the picture of his family, before his father who is 6 feet 4, his mother who is 6 feet tall & himself were standing behind Ian who is 5 feet tall & Joey who is 4 feet 4. Before Sam was the same height as his dad. His mother was 4 inches shorter as the top of her head was level with Sam’s eyes. Ian was a little bit below Sam’s shoulders. Joey barely reached Sam’s mid abs. But now in the picture Sam looked quite a bit shorter than his parents as he was even with his dad’s shoulders & came up to his mother’s chin. Now Sam is standing beside Ian in front of their parents. Now Ian comes up just below Sam’s eyes. Then last there’s Joey who is standing in front of Sam & Ian. Joey is tall enough compared to Sam that he comes up almost level with Sam’s shoulders.
Then Sam looks at the picture of him & April his girlfriend. Normally April is 5 feet 10 & Sam is 6 feet 4. In the old reality April came up to Sam’s nose. But now in the picture Sam only comes up to April's nose. Yet in the picture they are both smiling as if it’s normal for Sam to be 6 inches shorter than April. Then Sam looked at his football & basketball team pictures. In the football picture he looked to be average height, really on the shorter than average height side as it looked like most of the other freshmen football players seemed to be just a bit taller than him. But not by much. However the height difference in the basketball team picture was very evident. Before Sam was one of the taller players. But now he’s the shortest player on the team.
Sam gulped as he realized the pendant might have actually worked. Sam grabbed the pendant necklace & put it on then walked out of his room. Sam quickly walked down the hallway noticing everything seemed to be a bit bigger than normal. Sam walked over to the pantry door where each family member’s height had been recorded over the years. Sam saw his highest mark read 5 feet 4 instead of 6 feet 4. Sam measured himself to find indeed he is in fact just 5 feet 4 now! Sam gulped as he realized the pendant necklace actually works & has changed reality as if this is his normal height.
Suddenly just as Sam is about to grow back…
