Ian didn't know exactly how strong the formula was, so he decided it was safer to use just a drop to start with. He put a drop on the spoon and carefully slipped the vial back into his pocket.
He crept up behind Sam softly. He didn't want his brother to notice, so he crouched down and poured the contents of the spoon onto Sam's right bare foot. Sam didn't notice what happened, he just scratched his skin with his left foot where the formula hit him. Ian sneaked out of the kitchen so that if something happened to Sam, the boy wouldn't think he had anything to do with it.
Sam sat down at the table to eat his sandwich. Ian judged that enough time had passed for his appearance not to be suspicious. He walked into the kitchen while faking a yawn.
"Good morning bro." He said innocently. "Where are the others?"
"Morning to you too." Sam replied between bites. "They're gone. It's just the two of us."
Ian smiled. He was glad that no one was home to disturb them. He spread cornflakes in a bowl and poured milk over it and sat down at the table. Ian ate slowly as he watched his brother expectantly. But he didn't see anything unusual about Sam. Maybe the formula works slowly? Or did it already work but he used too little of it? Ian didn't know the answers.
Sam finished his breakfast so he washed his plate. Ian watched in frustration as his brother walked towards the living room.
He had to figure something out.
