Chapter #6Different meeting by: Wolfy   The first time Twilight met Zecora (AU to Bridle Gossip)
Twilight and Spike was having tea at Sugarcube Corner with her friends. They were eating snacks as they are having a casual conversation.
"It is nice just to have a quiet chat once in a while," Twilight signed as she sipped her tea.
Suddenly there was a knock by the entrance, "Pinkie and Applejack, are you there? I need you here to feed this mare."
Twilight heard a unique accent with rhyming couplets. She did not met anypony who had that accent.
"Excuse us for a moment. We need to talk to our biggest customer," Pinkie hopped out of her seat and head straight out of the entrance.
"Ah hope Zecora's scooter board is holdin' uhp," Applejack followed Pinkie behind.
"That's strange. Why doesn't Zecora come in?" Twilight pondered.
"Why don't you look out the window?" Rarity pointed at the window by the entrance, "You might get an answer."
Both Twilight and Spike ran up to the window to see who is Zecora. Both their eyes widened and mouths hang open on what they saw.
Twilight had seen zebras before. What shock her that Zecora was big, like really really big. Zecora was wider than she was tall. Zecora was as twice as tall as Princess Celestia. Her rump is so wide that she required ten seats. The biggest part of Zecora is the belly. Her belly would swamped the ground if it wasn't for the scooter board. Her belly is even wider than her rump. It is no surprise if Zecora couldn't fit through some alleyway or a narrow street.
"Ha. This is always the first reaction when strangers first met Zecora," Rainbow Dash flew up to Twilight, "Not a surprise that she is bigger than we last saw her."
"That's the fattest creature I've ever seen," Spike exclaimed.
"Spike!" Twilight hushed Spike, trying not to sound rude to Zecora.
"That's alright. She know that she is fat," Fluttershy commented, "She like being described as fat."
"She doesn't take offence to it," Rarity spoke up, "She just a big mare with a bottomless appetite."
Twilight kept watching the scene. She saw Pinkie produced a three-tier cake out of nowhere and Zecora swallowed it up with one bite. After talking for a bit, Zecora strolled away with ease as if she wasn't encumbered by her ridiculous weight. Her belly, cheeks and rump shook like jelly with every movement she made. Pinkie and Applejack went back inside.
"Sorry for thuh holduhp. Zecora wanted me ta replaced her scooter board and increase her food order again," Applejack sat back on the spot.
"Yeah. Me too and the other bakeries, candy stores, dessert shops, restaurants, Rich's Barnyard Bargains and every fast food chain. Keep this up, she would be the primary payer for all the food stuff." Pinkie leaped to her seat.
"Umm Pinkie," Twilight asked, "Was Zecora always this big or..."
"Nope," Pinkie interrupted her and pulled scrapbook about Zecora, "She was like any other ponies."
Both Twilight and Spike was surprise to see the first page of the scrapbook. Zecora was thin and the same size as other normal ponies in the picture. It is very hard for them to believe that this was the same Zecora as the one they saw outside.
"How long has this picture been taken?" Spike asked, hoping it is like 5 years or more.
"Nope, just one year," Pinkie quickly replied like it was nothing.
It gives another reason for both Twilight and Spike to stared widely at Pinkie, "One year. How is that possible?!"
Pinkie read out a story as she flipped through the pages. When they first met Zecora, she was greeted with a party. Zecora never had snacks like these in her homeland before. When Zecora first tasted them, she exclaimed that it was the best food that she have ever tasted. She ate so much food for an average pony. She said that she couldn't wait to eat more of these sugary treats.
Zecora sold potions to paid for more sweet food. She become a regular customer soon after. She started to get discounts and freebies for being a loyal customer which lead her to eat more. She began having trouble with mobility when she able to outeat Pinkie. Applejack offered services in making scooter board and repairs for her. All the stores that she frequent now offered free delivery service to her home. This now lead to more weight gain as she doesn't have to move out of her home. Ponyville invited her to eating competition and dominated all of them. She got sponsored and get more free food. All the store that sells food here give her free leftovers and products they couldn't sell to her (produce that are damaged or doesn't look as nice as other produce). Zecora was gaining weight really quickly because her previous diet doesn't involve much sugar and she was addicted to them. If she wasn't making potions, she would most likely be eating.
Twilight and Spike saw pictures of Zecora steadily increase in weight through each picture. There are newspaper clippings of Zecora's achievements. She can see that Zecora standing next to an average sized pony for reference. No wonder that everypony see her as a lovable zebra with an endless appetite that Pinkie couldn't match.
"She is the best eater. A competition that nopony want to compete against her," Rainbow added, "I heard she wanted to bulk up more to beat dragons as no normal pony want to compete against her."
"Wow," Spike thought of a Zebra whose belly is as big as a big dragon.
"Yeah, she is in the world record for the fattest creature comparative to her species," Rarity continued the conversation, "I heard she wanted to be the biggest. She told me that if she is that big, might as well be the biggest anypony have seen. Give her an inch and she will take a mile and more."
"Doesn't she like miss her mobility and not having an insanely large appetite?" Twilight questioned Zecora's choice.
"Nope," Fluttershy answered, "As you have seen Zecora moved easily with her weight, she was using strength and feather-weight potions. It is nice to see her around as she rarely go out as she used to. Her eating appetite does not bother her as it makes her happy and she would be remembered as the zebra with an endless appetite. Tourist love to take pictures with her if given the chance. The tourist commonly give her junk food as thanks for the picture."
"I wish I could talk to her," Twilight wondered, "I want to see her daily life and how does she deal with her size."
"Well Twi, ya could come with me as ahm goin' ta replace her scooter board or stay an wait for thuh next taahm. Howevher, we wouldn't know whe-yn she would come out again. Yo-wr choaahce."  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
