Chapter #5

April Fools

"H-Hold the door-!"

Minako scurried her way through the closing aperture before it wedged shut, making it onto the morning train in the nick of time. A few curious stares from the other commuters was shared over the schoolgirl who still had a half-finished slice of toast in her mouth, but Minako paid them no mind as she squeezed her way over to the opposite door, where Yukari had been watching out the window, lost in thought.

"Oh, hey!" Yukari noticed Minako's reflection in the glass. "Sorry I couldn't wait around any longer. Looks like you got lucky."

"Mm-hmph," Minako mumbled through a mouthful of butter and bread. She finished her breakfast as the train sped its way across the city, Gekkoukan High School drawing ever closer in the distance.

"Oooooh," Minako said in awe, pressing up against the glass. "Take a look, bro!"

Yukari couldn't help but raise her eyebrows as the girl's miniature brother grumpily peeked his way out of the pocket on her chest, staring out the window with as much disinterest as humanly possible.

So that's why her uniform is the only one with a shirt pocket...

***

The two girls (with the tiny passenger in tow) headed down the brick path to Gekkoukan High School. Minako seemed to be amazed at the scale of everything, despite being the larger of the two siblings. Yukari kept casting a glance at the shirt pocket to see if Minato would be joining them any time soon, but the boy seemed content to remain inside, hidden from the rest of the world.

I can't blame him, Yukari admitted to herself. The world must look a lot different to him.

"So, um..." Minako brushed the back of her head nervously. "Which class am I in again?"

"Wait, you don't know?"

"I-I nearly overslept, so I didn't have time to check."

Yukari could only shake her head and chuckle. She had merely seen a glimpse of Minako back at the dorm half-dressed and searching for her smaller sibling as if she had misplaced her keys. "Well, just don't let Mitsuru-senpai hear about it. Anyway, the classes should be posted on the bulletin board."

"Obviously," a tiny voice muttered from Minako's chest pocket. Minako poked it in response, resulting in an irritated grumble.

***

Minako frantically scanned through the lines and lines of text on the bulletin board, trying to find out where the Arisato twins had been placed. Minako had tried to make the faculty aware of Minato's 'special circumstances', but it had been a last-minute note during their application, so she didn't know for sure if they would be separated until she saw it clear as day on the paper before her.

Her eyes finally found the two names she was looking for.

You have the following choices:

*Pen*
1. Minako and Minato share the same class.

2. Minako and Minato are in separate classes.

*Pen* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
