(Spoilers for everything past the 5th Palace ahead!)
To: Makoto
I'm going on a business trip that will last the entire week, I'm trusting you to keep the house nice and orderly while I'm gone. I won't be taking my car, so I'm leaving it with you, should you need it.
Please be careful while I'm gone, and call me if anything comes up.
Love you
Sae.
Sae Niijima looked over the note once more before setting it down on her counter, letting out a sigh of relief as she heard her younger sister snore lightly from her room. It was 4 in the morning, and she was about to leave for her office, where a suitcase with enough clothing to last her a week, and a plane ticket to Okinawa. She'd been planning this for a while now, and couldn't help but feel a little guilty about the trick she was pulling on Makoto.
While she would be gone for a week, it wasn't on business. It was actually a vacation. A nice, week long vacation at a private condo in Okinawa that she'd rented, finally getting a chance to relax after years of arduous legal work. Her new boss, a man by the name of Hiroki Takahashi, was more than willing to approve the break, as he was rather progressive in how he treated his employees, and felt that they needed to be well-rested and happy if they were going to do their jobs properly.
But why the deception? Well, it was something of a test for the younger Niijima. Sae was more than happy to let her sister live with her for as long as Makoto needed, but at the same time, she would eventually need to have her own place. And while Sae didn't exactly doubt her younger sister's ability to take care of a house, she couldn't help but feel like she needed to see how well Makoto would do all by herself for a week. And as shameful as it is to think it, if Makoto thinks Sae's on an important business trip, the chances of her trying to bother her during it would go down. Not that Sae minded Makoto trying to talk to her, mind you, she'd just prefer to be completely free of all responsibilities during this week.
Sae peered into Makoto's room, seeing the girl sound asleep and clutching a Buchi-kun plushie that she'd had since she was a child. Smiling at the teen, she gently closed the door and moved to pick up her phone from her kitchen table. However, that was when she noticed something, something that would completely derail everything.
Her phone had a new app on it. One that she had only seen in passing. A red and black eye with a star in the middle...
"Wait... isn't that..?!" Before Sae could fully process what she was seeing, Her phone let out a bright flash of light, blinding her!
--------------
"Ugh... where the hell am.... I..." Sae's voiced trailed off as her vision returned. She was standing in front of Makoto's door, except something was very wrong.... She was barely an inch tall! The distance between Sae and the entrance to her sisters room was the equivalent to a foot ball field now...
There was little left to the imagination as to what did this to her. That app on her phone was the same one she had seen on Akira Kurusu's phone. The app that let him and his friends enter the "Metaverse" or whatever they called it. But why did it... wait, her phone!
*BRRRZZTT!! BRRRZZTT!!*
It vibrated nearby on the ground, as she had dropped it when she was flashbanged by that weird app. And unfortunately for her, it was full size. Walking up to the massive device, she felt her heart sink as she noticed the time.
It was 8:00. She'd missed her flight for one, but arguably more pressing, was that Makoto was due to wake up any minute---!!!
The ground shook underneath Sae as her younger sister awoke. She heard Makoto let out a yawn as the girl walked to the door and opened it, rubbing her eyes as she entered their living room. Sae could barely even move as Makoto approached her, the teens footsteps sounded like explosions to the small woman, making her stumble backwards as Makoto stepped over her, towering above her taller than a skyscraper. Makoto's foot had bumped into Sae's phone, sending it spinning away before ending up under their couch.
"Dammit, how didn't she notice that?!" Sae yelled, cursing her luck as her only way of contacting the teen was now what felt like miles away to her. Makoto continued walking towards their kitchen in her half-asleep stupor, eventually seeing the note that Sae had left her. "Shit... if she thinks I'm gone..."
Sae's deception had backfired on her, HARD. Just like she was planning on, Makoto wouldn't want to contact her if she thought that she was on important business. But what Sae wasn't expecting, was the teens reaction to the paper, as Makoto lazily read it, her eyes widened in excitement.
"YES!!" The teen yelled before she rushed back to her room, her bare feet barreling towards her shrunken sister!
"N-NO! MAKOTO DON'T--!!!" Sae yelled uselessly as she watched her little sisters foot descending onto her, time slowing down as the sole took up her vision, before....
*SLAMMMM!!!!*
Everything went black....
----------
"Ugh... am... am I dead?" Sae thought as her consciousness slowly returned to her. She was moving up and down somewhat rapidly, and there was a salty, gross taste in her mouth, and a cheesy stench permeating the air around her, just barely disguised by the scent of a familiar perfume.
"C'mon... how much longer are you going to make me wait?" Sae heard a familiar, but booming voice say from above her. As her vision returned, she realized the embarrassing predicament she found herself in.
She was currently pinned to Makoto's foot. Unharmed, for the most part, but still stuck to her little sis's foot, as the teen bounced it up and down her knee in impatient anticipation. Sae eventually managed to pry herself off of Makoto's cheesy sole, falling onto their couch, where Makoto currently sat, evidently waiting for someone.
"Eugh... disgusting..." Sae muttered as she spat out some of Makoto's foot sweat, which was the source of the salty taste from earlier. She looked up to see that her sister was somewhat dolled up. She was wearing a bit of makeup, but not enough to look too gaudy. She was also wearing her usual white blouse and black capris that she usually wore during the summer.
"MAKOTO!!! LOOK DOWN!!!" She screamed at the teen, but to no avail. Makoto was staring at her phone, biting her finger in excitement. She wouldn't have noticed Sae even at normal size. That, combined with the makeup, was making Sae very worried about just what her sister was up to.
"She... She's not, dating anyone... is she?" Sae muttered, and suddenly, her big sister instincts kicked into overdrive, completely overriding her survival instinct as outrage took her. What fucking piece of shit thought that they could just waltz in and take HER baby sister away?! She practically raised Makoto! No random jackass is just going to take her!
Sae ran up to Makoto's dress and started climbing up it, determined to get to Makoto's ear and both get her attention, and admonish her for hiding the fact that she was dating someone. It was an arduous climb, but Sae was fueled by outrage, so she barely noticed it.
When she finally reached the teens shoulder, she paused to catch her breath as her fatigue finally managed to catch up to her. But this would stop her plans dead in their tracks, as right when she got back up...
*Ding-Dong!*
"Finally!" Makoto exclaimed as she got up to answer their door, Sae nearly falling off of her shoulder as she moved. It was only by pure luck that she was able to grab onto a stray hair and keep from plummeting down to the floor. Makoto paused just before their front door to adjust her hair and take a deep breath, before opening the door and gleefully greeting....
