Chapter #6

Still not-a-neet

    by: regulus11 Author IconMail Icon

"Screw the job!" said May wrapping up the newspaper and throwing the paper ball behind her. Why would she need to change what was already perfect?

May spent the rest of the day playing her new video games. At one point, she found an incredibly hard stealth-based one, which got her stuck in the same level for an entire hour. May was getting annoyed to the point she was tempted to throw the controller against the tv but Marcie's arrival removed that option.

May avoided to look at Marcie, that bore would have soon asked what job had she picked and then would've made another lecture of hers, as if May was one of her students.

Unexpectedly, Marcie didn't ask May anything, actually, she ignored May and, after drinking some water, went in her room, leaving it only an hour later to go to the gym. The dark haired girl was pretty cool with this, much better than any quarrel or lecture, and didn't question Marcie's behavior, instead, in her mind there were only two worries: "Which game should I play next?" and "What's in the fridge?"

----

Days passed and Marcie, despite finding May in the same spot of the couch whenever she walked home, never said a word to her. Even during the rare times they were eating together (of course, there was April too), they never exchanged a single word with each other.
This didn't go unnoticed by April but, between the constant anymosity that there's been between the two and her new job, the redhead had always delayed the day in which she would've made the two reconcile.

May, however, was the happiest one out of this situation: she could play video games and watch tv all day without her parents, or anyone else for that matter, to scold her and tell her what to do and her dear cousin April prepared her delicious meals almost every day. To make things better, April had been spending a lot of time at home practicing new recipes ever since she begun her job as cook in an Italian restaurant, and needed May's help to taste her culinary attempts. Everything April made was already delicious for the tv-obsessed girl, but the redhead felt the need to improve even more.

Therefore, between a movie, a gaming session with SummerT1me77 and a dish of pasta, May's life couldn't be more perfect. Nothing had to change.

Until one day...
