You chock on the water trying to catch your breath...Your eyes stay closed trying to prevent the stinging from getting worse...in all your agony and suffication your hold slackens. Water drips down Cathy's foot to her little more than a few drops but to you it was a stream running downward. Wedged between the two toes you feel the foot settle down once again and you forget about being trapped and just are thankful you are still alive. But just as your eyes feel like they can open a massavie shift is felt in the surface around you...muscles that would be insignificant to a normal person shift and tighten becomeing hard as steal. you are sqeezed tighter then...WATER washes over you.
Cathy tested the water with her foot, it was cool then without any regard she set herself up and pushed-off diving in. The water splashed over her head instantly satchurating her hair and running over her shoulders through her swim-suit and finally up her legs and she was fully submerged. She gives her feet two qucik kicks to propell her away from the edge before she curves her back and rises to the surface.
You never woried about drowning before...you watched movies about it, ships turning over and the such but it was never a real threat. You knew how to swim...maybe not a perofesional but still you were healthy and could tred water. But this time there was a fear - one deep rooted into your chest. You didn't instantly come free from your mom. First you were dragged down deep, clorine stinging yoru eyes, choking because you did't even have a lungfull of air...you feel yourself being taken deeper then you've ever gone before, which if you had reason to think was probably no more than 3 or 4 feet below the surface. But you wern't thinking about that or even your situation...the only thought that was going through your mind was AIR! Then as if answering you there was a tramendis shake and you were kicked off and sent flowndering away.
Instantly you kick and grab at the water. There was no way to know how but you went straight for the surface. It was taking forever. Your chest was on fire, your lungs screaming. You open your mouth letting it fill with water at the same time spitting out air bubles from a breath you didn't even have. 'HUUUUAGH!' you suck in as you break the surface.
Your feet kick and you whipe at your face trying to clear your eyes. Opening them breafly you see a ways away from you a gaint figure emerge from the water. Long brown hair cascades down and you see the giant head. Your mom. She openes her eyes smiles looking around. You wave your arms but it was no use. She leanes away and with giant kick a wave rises up and comes directly for you. Intantly you dive under trying to avoid it but even then you feel yourself washed away.
You break the surface again sucking in air. It is hard but you force your eyes open. You are in an ocen but far away from you in all directions are sea monsters. You can tell even through squinting that they are giant children with float tubes and larger giants - another wave falls over you. You emerge again but this time you see what looks like a cliff side, a blue and white cliff with a big black number painted onto it. With no other option you start kicking and pulling water. You swim for the side. You have no idea how you're going to get out but you don't have another choice.
It felt like you weren't getting anywhere. The water kept fighting you. Stroke, stroke, stroke. You keep trying.
