"Swapping laws are relatively new and as we have our buyers and sellers sign wavers, which you signed. As the baby hasn't been born yet and there's no legal paperwork in regards to their existence until they are born the baby is now considered to be yours. What you do with that is up to you."
Jake looked down at his body again, focused on his pregnant belly. "I'll sue..."
"I'll highly advise against that sir, legal battles are expensive, I'm not sure your 50k will get you very far, especially as swap law is a highly specialized field. Court cases can take months, you look like you've only got 1 or 2 left and since you signed the waver you're likely to lose." She paused for a moment and gave Jake another look as she scanned his body. "If you wish to continue down that path all contact with our clinic will have to be through out lawyers." She threatened to kick Jake out on the street with the clothes he came in on (which would no longer fit).
"You're not the first person to reject a body," the nurse piped up. "We do offer adjustment counsellors to deal with this sort of thing at the rate of $1,000 per session." She left the room and returned with a bag of belongings that Jake brought in. "Now would you like to view our wardrobe options or will you like some time to adjust to your body further?"
"I just want to be left alone for now," Jake replied and the supervisor nodded to the nurse.
"Very well, we'll give you twenty minutes, after that we need to free this room for other clients." The two of them left, leaving Jake to ponder on the situation alone.
He hadn't really thought about the consequences of selling a body, only that he didn't think he had an attachment to it and that the money would be nice. What he didn't consider is the person who would end up buying his and the condition it would be in. He winced in pain as he felt the baby kick. Now he was a Twenty-Two year old, pregnant lady who was still attending collage though was currently on break. He'd likely have the baby before he started back and that thought terrified him.
