“Still can’t believe that I had Supergirl trapped under my butt and didn’t even realize it. Guess you have a new arch-nemesis.” Ruby laughed, stirring a pot of Kraft mac & cheese.
“Har har. I already told you it wasn’t that funny. Now, can we drop this and finish making dinner?” Kara pouted, standing next to an empty box of mac & cheese as she read the ingredients aloud to Ruby, stomping her boot as hard as she could atop Alex‘s quartz countertop.
Her heart skipped a beat as she watched the box top back and forth from the force of her stomp. Worried that it might fall on her and give Ruby something else to laugh about.
Supergirl defeated by an empty box of pasta, yeah, she'd never hear the end of that one. Especially if Ruby told Alex about it.
Luckily Ruby didn’t notice Kara’s reaction as she grabbed the pot and poured it through the strainer and then back.
“All I’m saying is that if you wanted a rematch, my butt will take you on again. Anytime, anywhere. Cause you were a really great cushion.” Ruby giggled, looking down at the counter towards Supergirl.
Kara turned and simply scowled at Ruby in response to this new taunt.
“Kidding, kidding. I’ll drop it.” Ruby laughed nervously, realizing she’d pushed her joke a little too far for Supergirl’s liking.
“How many Tablespoons of butter do I use again?” Ruby asked, relying on Sous-Chef Supergirl to give her the answer.
“Four,” Kara answered, as the front door opened and Alex returned to the apartment from work.
“Hey, there’s my girls. Oh, something smells good.” Alex smiled, crouching down to Ruby’s level as she cut off four pieces of butter.
“Dinner will be ready in a few minutes. Me and Supergirl are working hard on it.” Ruby announced proudly, as Alex stood up tall.
“Good, 'cause I’m starving.” The secret agent laughed, going back to her room to change before Dinner.
“Then we just mix in the cheese and a quarter-cup of milk, and it’s done,” Ruby announced as she finished stirring the pot.
“Fly over to the table, and I’ll give you your portion first.” Ruby smiled, carefully picking up the hot pot and carrying it to Alex’s dining room table as Supergirl flew alongside her.
“Just tell me when to stop,” Ruby said, grabbing the ladle and plopping one spoonful after another onto Kara’s plate when she probably could have stopped at one.
Kara loved to eat, and she could probably put a whole bakery out of business if she put her stomach to it, but this was excessive.
“Okay Ruby, that’s enough.” The girl of steel said, trying her best to be polite, though she didn’t know how Ruby expected her to eat the mountain of cheesy pasta currently on her plate as she flew down to inspect her dinner.
Unfortunately, at the same moment Kara asked Ruby to stop, she got a text from one of the girls on her soccer team, pulling her attention away from Kara as she made her descent, going in for one last scoop to add to the Girl of Steel’s plate.
“Mmm, looks great Ru-by.” Kara started, breaking up her last word into two parts as she noticed a shadow overhead, looking up just in time to see the cheesy avalanche as dozens of pieces of macaroni fell on top of her, leaving her buried.
“Okay, enjoy your dinner Supergirl. I’m just gonna go talk to my friends before I start eating.” Ruby called down to Supergirl, picking up her phone and leaving the room.
“Well this blows, but at least it can’t get any worse. Might as well start eating my way out of here.” Kara said, taking a few large bites out of the surrounding pasta walls.
Unfortunately, the universe took this declaration as a personal challenge from the Girl of Steel, seeking to prove that things could always be worse. Especially when you were bug-sized.
Kara heard and felt the vibrations of a chair being pulled out from underneath her, and since Ruby had just left the room, there was only one person it could be.
“Alex! Down here! Alex, is that you!?” Kara yelled through the Mac and Cheese, trying to get her adopted sister’s attention as she felt her drop into her seat in front of Kara, assuming the plate she was on was left out for her.
“Mmm, this really does look good.” She said aloud, her mouth watering as she grabbed her spoon and poked at the mound of Mac and Cheese in front of her, lifting a small portion to her lips and chewing.
Kara’s heart dropped, she never even considered that Alex might try to eat the pile of pasta she was trapped under.
“No, Alex! Please!” she begged, not wanting to be devoured by her own sister. However, her cries for help were too weak to reach Alex as she clutched her spoon and went in for another bite.
What happens next?
1. Alex lifts Kara to her lips unknowingly, swallowing her sister and clearing her plate, going to take a shower, and passing Ruby, who notices Supergirl's absence. Will she be able to tell Alex she's eaten her hero?
2. Ruby interrupts Alex while she's lifting Kara to her mouth, redirecting the spoon into her own mouth and swallowing Supergirl in the process. Asking about the heroine's whereabouts only after she's inside her belly. But Alex and Ruby don't know which of them has eaten Supergirl.
3. Kara manages to escape the mountain of Mac and Cheese before Alex can scoop her up, leading to confusion from her adopted sibling. She doesn't get eaten, but it does lead to Alex scolding Ruby, telling her to keep a closer watch over Supergirl. How will Kara manage when Ruby takes this assignment personally? Dropping Supergirl down the back of her panties for safekeeping.
