You watched as the smiling magician stared at you for a bit after you made your question, leading you to wonder if she could even hear you given your new stature.
"HEEEY, ARE Y-"
A not-so-unreal finger pressed onto your mouth, silencing you. From above, Dark Magician Girl gave a giggle, before looking at you again.
After that, her finger still pressed on your lips, you saw her slowly nodding, giving a silent reply to your question, causing her long blonde hair to shake in the process.
You took a step back on her soft palm, freeing yourself from the finger on your mouth, which was allowed to speak again.
"... Okay, so you ARE real," you stated,
"Just... how?"
No reply, though Dark Magician Girl lost her smile to adopt a dejected expression.
"What? Did I say something wrong...?" you asked, wondering if you should have apologized before the giantess became offended.
However, she shook her head no, signaling that you hadn't said anything wrong.
But then...
Realization hit you.
Dark Magician Girl didn't reply because she couldn't reply. Even if she became real, somehow, she was still a card.
And like in the anime, few exceptions made, cards couldn't speak.
You refrained yourself from sharing your discovery.
Instead, you limited yourself to staring back at Dark Magician Girl, who had regained her smiled as she held you close to her face, seemingly enjoying your company. Proof of that was the kiss you were given earlier, which still lingered in your mind.
It still felt good, despite a while having passed...
Wait, you couldn't lose yourself over a kiss, as heavenly as it could be. You had unanswered questions to make!
"So, um..." you began, not really knowing what to say. You didn't even know how this all was possible to begin with and your mind was struggling to believe that any of this wasn't actually a dream, even if a really lucid one.
"How can you be real?" you repeated.
Even if she couldn't reply, there must have been a way for Dark Magician Girl to reply to your question.
Luckily for you, there was.
Even if mute, she was still a sorceress.
With the corner of your eye, you saw her other hand reaching behind her back as she brought back her wand and moved it over your head, giving it a light tap, resting the large wand on your head afterwards.
As gentle as she was trying to be, the tap still hurt. What was that wand made of?
You didn't have any time to focus on the pain, because suddenly, like a movie, a sequence of images flashed in your mind.
What you saw was... yourself, a few years younger, sitting at a table; a friend of yours, who you hadn't heard in a while, was sitting on the other side.
The two of you were playing a certain card game...
"Okay, I tribute summon Dark Magician Girl," younger you said, putting a card away to put the Magician Girl in its place,
"Then I use Magic Formula to strengthen her," your younger self continued, flipping a face-down card, revealing it.
Then, he... you?... attacked the other monster.
The duel was over.
"Ah, dude!" your friend complained, obviously upset.
But as you began cheering over your victory, the present you noted the card of the Dark Magician Girl.
She was smiling, even more than the illustration usually did.
"Whoa." you said as the wand left your head, allowing you to return to reality.
After a moment of dizziness, you looked back at the giantess.
"Wait, so you're my Dark Magician Girl?... Er, the card I mean..." you awkwardly clarified, causing the giantess to giggle, one of sound that could come out of her mouth in the anime.
She nodded her head, giving you a loving stare.
"Okay, but that doesn't explain how you're real!" you insisted.
Dark Magician Girl sighed and pointed her wand upwards, to the sky, pointing her gaze up as well.
You got the hint and looked up, noticing a floating circle high in the sky, which was completely of several bright colors, just like the rest in whatever place you ended up in.
A second look at that circle made you realize something was written in it, though it was impossible to read... wait, wasn't that the background of the Dark Magician Girl's card?
But...
"... Wait, are we inside your card?" you asked, setting your eyes back on the giantess, who nodded happily.
Then, she brought her wand to your head a third time, this time delicately touching you with it.
Everything became clear.
Dark Magician Girl was real, but couldn't leave the confines of her card. However, as it turned out, she could bring others inside, in this case by using another card, Magical Hats.
When the wand left you again, you snapped back to reality... or at least to the new one.
"Whew..." you moaned,
"So you brought me in here. Why?"
In response, the giantess who inhabited the card smiled, bringing you closer to her face and rubbing you against her smooth, pink cheek.
"Y-You... missed me?" you tried, not really sure and assuming this was the most likely hypothesis.
You hadn't played in years, after all.
Dark Magician Girl nodded and moved you to her lips once more, giving you a second kiss, though this one was more brief than the first. It still felt good anyway.
After that, you were moved back to your original position, in front of her face.
"Okay... so, if you brought me here, is there any way to send me back?" you asked.
'Your' magician's expression dropped as she adopted a disappointed look, a sad glint in her emerald eyes.
She stared at you like that for several moments, until you said,
"Okay, guess I'm staying..."
This caused the giantess to smile brightly again.
You sighed, guessing it couldn't be so bad after all. She was your favorite card in the deck, after all, and it seemed she was fond of you just as you were fond of her.
"So, what now?" you asked.
Dark Magician Girl remained silent as usual, but smiled in a friendly manner, looking forward to make up for lost time.
