You couldn't believe the situation you were in. You were talked into helping Zoe prank another version of herself, and now you were probably going to take the downfall for it. You know you should've expected something like this, but you didn't think Zoe would leave you hanging like this. You were hiding in the giant skate of the other Zoe, hoping she hadn't seen you. You pressed yourself against the toe of the shoe as hard as you could.
The shoe quaked around you as the other Zoe grabbed the shoe. The dull light that was coming from the mouth of the shoe dimmed considerably. You assumed that the other Zoe was peaking into the shoe, apparently she had seen you before you hid yourself further in the skate. Part of you wished that you were still trapped under her toes instead of being looked for.
"I know that you're in there. I saw you trying to hide." The other Zoe said.
"Oooh! You got found out!" Your Zoe spoke in your mind.
"Yeah, I did, so are you going to help me or not?" You shot back, annoyed.
"No!" Your Zoe responded cheerfully.
You wanted to complain, but you couldn't even speak before the shoe got tipped over. You fell helplessly from the toe of the shoe and onto the upturned roof before helplessly sliding down. You manage to catch yourself near the mouth of the shoe for a moment before falling out. You didn't fall for long though, as you felt yourself drop onto a soft surface. Looking down, you saw that it was the other Zoe's hand. You were a little surprised her hand was so soft. She seemed to live such an unhealthy life style, with a dirty room and unhealthy snacks, you figured she wouldn't be the most hygienic. You wouldn't complain of course, and you were also relieved she wasn't holding you in an angry fist.
Laying flat on your stomach, you could see the world around you get lower as the other Zoe raised her hand closer to her face. She wanted to get a good look at you; she couldn't believe what she was seeing! Even in her virtual reality games, she had never seen a shrunken person! She did play mostly PvP games, and being shrunken wouldn't really be advantageous, so it made sense she hadn't seen it yet, but still... a tiny person! That wasn't normal.
"Are you real? Cause you shouldn't be real." The other Zoe said, poking at your back.
You grumble irritably to yourself as you push away the other Zoe's finger. Truthfully, you hadn't pushed it away, you simply got the other Zoe to stop poking you. As you moved into a proper sitting position you thought about what you should call the other Zoe. You couldn't just keep saying "the other Zoe", that would get old quickly.
"What did Zoe call this... her again?" You thought to yourself.
"She's Cyberpop me!" Zoe helpfully interjected.
"Thanks Zoe." You responded. "But don't listen in on my thoughts."
"Don't be boring. Hurry up and talk to Cyber me!
"Hey, can you talk? Or are you a mute? That'd be cool, I've never met a mute before. I've never met a tiny person before. Especially not a tiny boy. You're kind of cute you know that? I didn't even feel you inside of my skate! If you were always inside of there. Was that your home? Have I been wearing your home all this time without knowing it? Wait, no, of course not. Why would you live in someone's shoe. Especially a shoe that they wore all the time. You're probably the one who messed up my other skate! But then, why would you hide in the other shoe? And why would-"
"Ah crud." You mumbled to yourself. "Cyber Zoe's as bad as regular Zoe was.
"Wow! Cyber me can really talk! She just goes on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and-"
You mentally shush the excitable girl in your mind; you didn't want to deal with two motor mouths at once.
"Zoe! Would you-" You stop yourself. You couldn't call her by her name without her telling you first. Then she'd ask you how you know and probably Segway into a bunch of other questions and then get back to the original point. You weren't sure about how the Zoes' existences interacted with each other, but you assumed that you shouldn't let one know about the other unless the absolutely had to know. So you had to play dumb for now, just play the role of a completely innocent victim. Which wouldn't be hard, you were an innocent victim... just not completely innocent.
"-Or maybe there's a whole society of shoe dwellers and... Oh, did you say something? Sorry, when I'm left alone to talk I kinda sorta go overboard. What did you say again?"
"I-I said, um, thanks for getting me out of your shoe. I was worried I would never get out!" You say, half telling the truth.
"No no no! You can't just say that." Cyber Zoe said seriously. "I saw you trying to hide. Were you the one who ruined my skate?"
Unfortunately, you couldn't look the girl in the eyes and convincingly lie to her. "No! I don't even know how I could ruin your skate. I don't have any tools to do the job."
"Hmmmm. Well you're not wrong." Cyber Zoe admitted. "And I don't think you would stick around in my other skate if you were the one to break my skate."
"Thank you for believing me." You say relieved. "I was really worried there for a second."
"So you went back into my shoe to try to hide?"
"Yeah, you could say that. I guess I was hoping to sneak out later."
"Well, now you won't be able to do that. But it's okay, you have me to take care of you now. It's a lot better to be with me in here than outside alone! My name's Zoe by the way!"
"Good to meet you Zoe." You chuckle, thinking it was a bit strange to say that to another version of the same girl you already knew. "I'm [Your Name]."
"Nice to meet you Tiny." Cyber Zoe said, apparently ignoring your name. "I know we just met, but you and I are going to have some fun!"
Oh no.
