“That’s right. What? You don’t want to be my friend?” Fiona wondered as well.
“Oh no! It’s not that! It’s just I don’t think there’s been a bond between humans and ogres before.” You said.
“First time for everything. Right?” Fiona said with a smile making you feel more comfortable.
“I guess so. So, about your curse, any idea who did this?” You wanted to know.
“It was when I was a little girl. One night, a witch came and cast this spell on me. So, as I explained, I’m a beautiful princess by day, but I’m this by night.” Fiona told you her story.
“That’s sad. Is there a way to break it?” You asked her.
“True love’s kiss. Only a kiss by my true love can break the curse. So far, no luck.” Fiona said sadly as she looks at her reflection.
“By night one way, by day another, this shall be your norm. Until you find true love’s first kiss and then take love’s true form.”
That sounds like the words that were used to cast this curse on her. You have to admit, it sounds very pretty and sweet. Still you can’t help but feel bad for her after that.
“That sucks. It must be really rough having to go through this day and night.” You said with sympathy.
“You don’t know the half of it.” Fiona said looking down at you.
“I can only imagine.” You said.
“Though, I highly doubt that my true love will ever come. Not that I’d blame any of them.” Fiona said sadly.
“Is it because of your ogre form?” You guessed.
“Yes. I mean, who’d want to be someone as hideous and ugly as me. I’m only beautiful during daytime. But if they see me like this during nighttime, they’ll just run and hide for their lives. I mean, who am I to judge. I’d probably done the same thing. It’s just hopeless for me.” Fiona said really sadly now.
You want to help her get out of this funk as you straighten yourself up and looked her eyes.
“Well, I don’t think you’re hideous or ugly or anything like that.” You said to cheer her up.
“What?” Fiona said.
“Yeah. I can tell you’re a very special person. Sure, we’ve only just met, but I know you’re beautiful no matter what.” You said.
“You’re just saying that to make me feel better.” Fiona said.
“No. I mean it. People just need to see who you are and not what you are. After that, I bet you’ll have all sorts of men come charging at you with love.” You said as you now see Fiona smiling.
“Wow. You know how to make a princess feel better about herself.” Fiona said.
