Chapter #51

Into The Tigers' Den

    by: Unknown
You felt confused as you stared at the huge symbol on an even larger wall in front of you, wondering what it was.

This place was pretty weird, you mused. But then again, everything about your current predicament was nothing short of weird: you had woken up a while ago, only to discover that you had somehow ended up in some kind of building that seemed to be some kind of castle.

Then, while you were wondering where you were and how you had gotten here, some people appeared and walked right past you without seemingly noticing you, which you guessed was understandable: they were impossibly big! Either that or you were impossibly small!

That had left you even more confused than you initially were. But, even so, you had quickly realized that just standing there was not going to bring you anywhere, so you had decided to begin wandering around and try to at least find out where you were.

Eventually, you had ended up where you were now, a room that you assumed was the main hall of whatever building you were in: on the far end was what appeared to be a throne and, above that, was the large symbol you were staring at in confusion.

Was that supposed to help you realize where you were? Because it wasn't helping at all.

Then, as you were desperately trying to figure out where you were, a voice echoed in the deserted hall,

"Sting?"

You turned around and watched as someone walked in: a girl. She was very tall (especially from your point of view!), with white-blue hair that matched her clothing and brown eyes.

"Rogue?" she called while looking around, before wearing a pout,
"Ugh, where is everyone?"

While saying that, the giantess started walking once again, headed in your direction.

"I bet they're all just in the pool." she said to herself, unaware of the tiny listener that was in the hall with her. The girl let out a small sigh,
"Well, might as well get some relax, too. That quest was exhausting..."

The ground beneath your feet began quaking gently as the giant approached, seemingly heading to the hallway you came out of; however, before she could leave, you hastily decided to get her attention: you didn't know her, but she seemed nice, and you desperately wanted an explanation for everything that was going on right now.

"Miss!" you suddenly shouted from the ground just as the giantess was about to walk past you, causing her to halt.

Had she heard you...?

"Hm?" the giantess began looking around.

Yes! She heard you!

"Miss!" you yelled again,
"Look down!"

"Look down...?" the girl repeated to herself in confused whisper as her gaze shifted to the floor, which she scanned for a few seconds before her brown eyes eventually met the sight of you.
"H-Huh!?"

You felt slightly relieved: it looked like the giantess had noticed you. Such thought was then confirmed as you saw the girl kneeling in front of you, lowering her hand in front of you; though a little hesitantly, you climbed on, allowing the girl to lift you up to take a better look at you.

Silence followed, and it lasted until the giantess eventually spoke,

"A-Are you a tiny person?" she stuttered in surprise.

"I... I honestly don't know if I'm small or you're big, miss..." you replied, before letting out a nervous giggle,
"... Though, since you said that, I guess it's the former."

The giantess slowly nodded her head.

"... Who are you? And what are you doing in our guild?" she then asked, seemingly gaining a little more confidence as she rose to her feet... guild?
"Based on what you said, I don't think you've used Size magic on yourself." she continued. Magic?

Okay, now you were even more confused.

"... I don't know what you are talking about." you admitted, causing the girl to wear a confused look of her own. You then proceeded to tell the giantess your name,
"... I'm also a little lost right now," you revealed, nervously scratching your head,
"Can you tell me where I am?"

The giantess seemed initially taken aback, but then wore a small smile.

"Oh... wow, you really are lost," she chuckled politely,
"You're in Sabertooth's guildhall."

"I don't know what that means." you truthfully answered, causing the giantess to lose her smile.

"Um... it's one of the most famous guilds in Fiore."

"I don't know what that means, either."

The girl didn't reply to that, and wore an extremely confused look as she tried to figure just who she was dealing with.

Aside from your current size, you seemed a completely normal person, but it also seemed you were completely confused about everything around you.

"... A-Are you from the Alvarez Empire or some other kingdom?" the girl eventually spoke again.

"N-No?" you replied, even more confused. Just what was this girl talking about!? Guilds? Magic? Fiore? Alvarez Empire? Just where had you ended up!?

"O-Oh, my..." the girl stuttered, realizing she was dealing with a lost, shrunken and helpless person.

This was a first.

"S-So, miss-"

"Yukino," the giantess clarified, wearing a smile once more,
"My name is Yukino."

Well, at least you now knew her name.

"Right, Yukino... is there any way you could help me?" you asked,
"I-I mean, is there any way to fix me?... You mentioned Size magic or something, right?"

You figured that, wherever you were, it wasn't the world you knew. Not only that, but you clearly couldn't stay like this.

Yukino nodded.

"Yeah, but... I don't really know it myself," she replied,
"And I think you can't either, right?"

"I didn't even know magic was real up to this point..." you muttered, pretty daunted by her response.

Once more, Yukino was taken back by your words. However, seeing your expression, she felt the need to comfort you.

"Well... I think there is some other way I could help you," Yukino kindly spoke, causing you to look at her with a hopeful spark in your eyes.

"R-Really?" you asked.

Again, Yukino nodded.
