"You will be my partner if you show you can keep up," Neytiri calmly states as she reaches into her bag to grab some things.
Internally, you feel relieved at her decision. It could've gone a lot worse given her past experiences with humans. Nonetheless, you don't know if you'll be able to pass whatever test she has in mind
"Alright. What do I have to do?" you inquire as you get to your feet.
"Wait. You'll know soon," she responds as she grabs a good amount of the oxygen plants before dropping them into a bowl lying nearby.
Without hesitation, she begins grinding them up. After a few minutes, the plants become a thick liquid.
Reaching into her bag once more, Neytiri pulls out a large flower. This one is light blue and exudes a strange gas.
Emptying the contents of the bowl into the flower, she waits as the liquid quickly freezes.
"Liquid nitrogen flowers," you murmur to yourself in shock. Just how did researchers think that Pandora was remotely habitable for human life with things like this being commonplace?
"Done," Neytiri murmurs to herself as she drops the now solid oxygen into her hand. Grabbing a few strands of fabric, she ties it around each side, forming two straps. Finished with her work, she offers the newly made backpack to you.
"What's this for?" you ask curiously as you sling the stone-like object onto your back.
"For breathing. No need for plants now," she explains before gesturing for you to breathe.
Sure enough, your next breath is one filled with oxygen rather than the normal Pandoran air. It seems like the solid oxygen crystal creates an air bubble for whatever is near it.
"How did you know about this?! This is brilliant!" you exclaim in wonder.
"The elders taught us how to make it when humans first came," she tells you as she packs up her things. "Never had a chance to use it."
"Thank you," you state with a smile directed towards her. In response, she returns it with one of her own before she focuses.
"Now, you must prove you can be by my side. To do this, you must win a game," she tells you firmly.
"A game? What kind?" you question, completely confused.
