Just as Wanda is about to suggest something, the two of you hear a knock at the door.
"Oh. She's here early," Wanda murmurs to herself.
"Who is?" you inquire.
"It's our neighbor, Agnes," Wanda replies as she gently picks you up and sets you on the couch. "She said she was planning on stopping by to celebrate us fully moving in."
"That's kind of her," you get to your feet and dust off your clothes. "I'm guessing I should hide, right?"
"Oh there's no need for that, dear," Wanda waves her hand dismissively as she makes her way towards the door. "Agnes knows about your condition."
Your eyebrows nearly shoot to the top of your head upon hearing this. For the amount of concern that Wanda has about keeping you hidden, this sounds incredibly off.
Immediately after this, you feel a piercing ache in your head that lasts for a few moments. By the time it's over, you can barely remember what you were thinking about. It's only a few moments later that you remember meeting Agnes when Wanda first took you to see the house.
While you being found by her was unintentional, your neighbor took the reveal surprisingly well. Aside from a few jokes that she may need your help with a few things, which you are not 100% sure were actually jokes, she's quite a lovely person to be around. Plus, having a nosy neighbor does keep you and Wanda on your toes.
As soon as Wanda opens the door, she's met with the sight of Agnes carrying two bottles of alcohol.
"Wanda! I brought you and the hubby some wine so we can all celebrate!" your neighbor declares cheerfully as she makes her way over to the couch.
"Agnes, that's so thoughtful," Wanda says as she closes the door and follows.
As soon as Agnes sees you sitting on one of the couch cushions, a smirk crosses her face.
"Hey there, cutie. How has move-in day been treating you? Carry any luggage in?"
Right, you forgot that Agnes was also a huge flirt. Wanda knows it isn't serious, so she doesn't jump in. Still, you always get the feeling that your neighbor is testing the limits.
"Great. How has Ralph been?" you counter with a smirk as Agnes makes a sour expression.
"The usual. Lazy and unwilling to recognize that he's got a bombshell of a gal as his wife," she complains as she drops onto the couch. The impact nearly sends you flying, but you manage to grab on in time to prevent that.
"I still don't get why you're with him," you state honestly. With the amount of failings he has as a husband, she wouldn't be in the wrong to leave.
"Not everyone can be as lucky as Wanda is to have a guy like yourself," she replies as your wife takes a seat next to you before pulling you into her lap again. "Speaking of, what have you two lovebirds been up to?"
"Nothing much," Wanda replies as she changes the channel to another random sitcom. "We had dinner and then did our nightly ritual."
"I'm still jealous about that. I'd kill for Ralph to rub my feet every once in a while," Agnes huffs. "Usually, it's the other way around."
You briefly hear laughter somewhere in the background, but it quickly ceases once you focus on it. Huh. Must be from the TV.
"It's just like you said. I'm a lucky gal," Wanda chirps happily as she softly brushes your cheek with a finger. In response, you turn your head to press a kiss onto the digit, earning a giggle from her.
"Mind sharing that luck?" Agnes teases with a wink your direction.
"Maybe," Wanda hums in reply. "I was actually going to ask if you'd mind keeping an eye on him later this week. I have to go get some things and I'll be gone for most of the day."
"I can take care of myself," you protest indignantly.
"Honey, you got stuck between the couch cushions last time I left you by yourself," Wanda reminds you with a small grin.
At the reminder of that embarrassing incident, you blush and murmur some more complaints under your breath.
"I'd love to. If I can handle SeƱor Scratchy, he'll be easy," Agnes agrees before getting to her feet. "Anyways, I think I should probably let you two enjoy your night. I'll see you kids tomorrow."
As your neighbor begins to head out, it looks like Wanda wants to say something to her.
Does she say anything?
